Any recommendations on a good church in Richardson or close to Southeast Richardson? Would hope to find good solid teaching for adults and children... expecting our first in a week in a half! We are a late 20's/early 30's couple living in Southeast Richardson, would like to find a more "local" place to fellowship and connect with people who live nearer to us. Smaller to Medium/Large size church okay, but preferably not a "Mega Church". Thanks!

What can I do next?

Dallas Bible Church is a good one. I attend Northwest Bible, but have been to their Fall Festivals. It is a medium size church, might fit your family well. It is at Arapaho and Preston. Not too far from you. I live at Coit and Beltline!

Richland Bible Fellowship is a bible church/non-denominational and we love it there! I can't say enough good things about it. Everything what Sara R said I totally second. I've been at RBF since '99 and my husband and I love everything about it: the teaching, the fellowship, small group (community groups), children's learning center. It's great. Come visit and check us out! If you guys decide to visit, let me know!

Richland Bible Fellowship Church is great! It is located on Blake Drive off of Plano Road between Arapaho and Collins. The same pastors have been in leadership for over 30 years... it is a really strong family church. There are lots of great small groups and ways to get plugged in for your age group and the children/youth programs are phenomenal. I grew up at the church, and love it. The senior pastor is Dr. Bill Brewer and the Associate pastor is Dr. Mark Engelthaler. I really encourage you to check it out. Good luck to you and your family!

J.,

We go to Trinity Bible Church in Richardson (www.trinitybiblechurch.com)and we love it. It is a medium sized church with very warm and welcoming people and excellent teaching. Our son loves going to the nursery and they have a really wonderful Sunday School program for school age kids as well. Our son will be starting in the Mother's Day Out Program this fall. We did a lot of church "shopping" when we moved to this area, but this is the place that we immediately felt at home. We would love for you and your family to visit sometime. Good luck finding the right church home for you and for your upcoming delivery!

I go to Watermark Community Church and it is amazing.

It is probably 80-90% our age (20s-30s). So the sermons are always relevant to what we are experiencing. Good people, good teaching. I love it. There are a lot of Lake Highlands/Lakewood/Highland Park families. I drive all the way from Plano, but it's worth it.

I work in the children's ministry and in Hugs and Quiches where we supply two weeks of meals for families in need (new baby, death in the family, etc). There are so many opportunities to get involved.

I highly recommend visiting and seeing what you think. It took just one time for me to be really impressed. :)

Our new building will be done on Labor Day and it is at 635 and 75. You can see it from 635 when you are traveling east. Right now we are meeting at Lake Highlands High School.

Pretty much everyone ends up joining a "community group" which is a group of people you get the closest with, serve with, connect deeply with, hold each other accountable, etc.

The website is http://www.watermark.org

If you have any questions, message me. Good luck in your search. :)

Blessings,
S.

OH! And congrats on your first baby!!!

Hi J.

I too live in Richardson (North East Richardson) and have been looking for a closer smaller church than where I had been going before. We have found one called Richland Bible Fellowship around Arapaho and Plano and we are really liking it. It has a great family feel and seems very warm and inviting so far. The teaching is great and they have excellent programs for kids. Check them out online for exact location.

We used to attend Watermark and LOVED it for years. Also in our search we visited Trinity Bible and Dallas Bible. They both seemed really good too.

Good luck!

Hi J.!
I invite you to visit our church, Fellowship Bible Church North -- www.fbcnorth.org. We're located next to the Target at Parker/75 in Plano, a short drive from Richardson. In fact, I have a couple in my Life Group who live in Richardson. (exact address: 850 Lexington Drive, Plano)

I know you prefer a location in Richardson, but if you don't find what you're looking for there...please try us out. A good church home is worth a short drive. Our services are Friday 7 p.m.; Sunday 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., Noon. We have Life Groups that meet twice a month -- my husband and I are leaders of one and we would love to have you visit our group! Most of the couples in our group are late 20s to mid 30s with small babies/toddlers.

We are relocating to a new building, in construction now, and will hopefully have its first church services during the 1st weekend in November. The new site is at Chase Oaks/Legacy in Plano (near 75/Legacy)...and when we move we'll change our name to Chase Oaks Church -- still the same fellowship Bible church.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!!
-A.
