Please help!! I have no idea what to get everyone for Christmas/Birthdays this year. My oldest stepson turns 16 in November, has no interest in getting his permit, let alone his drivers license, and the only thing he ever wants is video games...or an electric scooter that he doesn't need a drivers license for. Any suggestions? I also have a 13 year old step daughter who wants either a bike or a sewing machine. My concern is that if she only gets one big thing, she will be disapointed because she is used to opening multiple gifts. And we can't forget the 9 year old step son who lives with his mom full time and we only see every other weekend. He loves Hot Wheels, so that's an easy go to gift, but if we are spending $100 on each of the other kids, it doesn't seem fair that he only get some Hot Wheels. And let's not forget the youngest who turns 5 on December 19th, only 6 days before Christmas! My problem there is that he want's everything! He is even seeing comercials for girly toys, and telling me that he thinks his Tiffanie (big sis) would like it, mainly because he want's to play with it, but if he gets a pink toy, his brothers give him a hard time. Any suggestions or ideas are most welcome and appreciated!!

What can I do next?

I don't think the 13 y/o will be disappointed with one big gift if that's what she really wants. Plus, she'll be getting a stocking right? And she'll probably have gifts to open from extended family.

As far as the 5 y/o. I just read in Parents this month about some really cool Hot Wheels track that got number 1 in their toy test. I'm not sure how much it is but you could go along with that and some cars. I've never seen the boy Polly Pockets...cute! They do have action hereos, etc. in that small doll size if you think he'd go for that. I also agree that you should try and get him what he wants. If he knows he gets teased but is still asking anyway, he probably really wants it.

You can't go wrong with new bikes. Get all the kids a new bike, Cheap ones already assembled at WalMart or Toys R Us. Buy one a paycheck from now until then. Line em up in front of the tree and you have a wow Chistmas. Then an outfit for each, and one ot two little toys, like a new $10 hotwheel track for the 9 yr old, a used video game for the gamer, a craft kit for the sewer. Fill the stockings with thier individual tastes and you're done.

I start my Christmas shopping months in advance, and always make a list so it's easier to handle.

16 yr old: not sure if you're willing to spend over $100, but perhaps an iTouch? He could play video games on there, and listen to music, watch movies, etc. OR since he loves video games, maybe some new games for whatever console he already has, and some clothing.

13 yr old: I know what you mean about the pleasure of opening multiple gifts. I even worry about this with my full-grown boyfriend! lol I would say, a bike would be nice, and perhaps sign her up for a kid's sewing class at JoAnn's Fabric's if you have one near you (I think the class is about $30). Then, if she is into Justice, you can get a purse from there, and fill it with different goodies- maybe even a gift card to Justice as well.

5 yr old should be very easy to shop for. They love little things, like Play Doh, bubbles, movies, etc.

Good luck :)
