Favorite Things to Do with Your Android? I'm New to This

I just got my first android and I am loving it! This is my first "fancy phone". What are your favorite things to do on yours? So far I've done the facebook app and added a ringtone app, but that's about it.

my hubby and I just got our first "fancy phones" on Mothers Day....hehehe, i know how you feel. before we had strictly talk, no texting at all, just talk. we were only able to get these because they were on a big MD sale, and also my husband gets a 25% discount on the bill for working for home depot (we switched providers), otherwise we could never afford it. I like an app called Prank Dial, they have all these funny songs or fake conversation ones, a fake one about digital piracy etc. you put in the number you want to call and you can make up a phone number that shows up on their caller id, and you can record it to listen later...it is funny. I like a game called Phit Droid, kind of like a 3d puzzle sort of. there are just soooooo many different kinds of games. ooooh, I like the app Shazam, it is the one where if you hear a song you click on your Shazam app and it "listens" to the song and then tells you the name and artist who sings it. I also like the one's Beach Girl talked about. and I do the FB on it as well.

I make my own ringtones from mp3s on myxer.com for free and have them sent to my phone via text. I love the Kindle app and have downloaded a bunch of free books. Games like Air Control, Tetris, Words With Friends and Angry Birds are all free and fun. I have Netflix and HBO Go on my phone too since I pay for those services on my TV. The bestest best part of an Android is that it links your phone contacts and your Google (gmail) contacts instantly, so if your phone dies, you don't lose your numbers and also any email addresses you have in gmail automatically appear in your phone. I was a hotmail user for years, but switched to gmail and never looked back when I learned all the benefits there were with this phone.

My husband had a Droid and loved it, but for whatever reason, I guess because the grass always looks greener on the other side, he trade/gave it to someone else, and bought an iPhone...which more often than not leaves him disappointed! I don't know if two of the things he liked on the Droid were apps or if it came this way, because I am not a "techy", but he could point it at the night sky and it would map the solar system! The other thing was that he could point it at bar codes on merchandise in a store and it would comparison shop and tell him where else he could find that item and the prices! Have fun and enjoy it!
