Fashion Question from a Clueless Mom

I have never been a fan of Ugg boots. Just didn't get it. But, while shopping yesterday, I saw a really cute pair, and slipped them on... OMG, where have they been all my life???

I'm not a fashionista by any means, so at a price tag of over $200, I thought I'd better ask: Are these still OK to wear, or would I be made fun of if seen around town wearing them?

What can I do next?

They are the most wonderful boots ever made! They warm and perfect for snowy days. My children love them! No one is going to make fun about!

You are good to go. Everyone still wears them in the winter.

I work in a college setting, and all the girls still wear them, so I think you are ok.
I resisted too, but they are by far the warmest for my 1/2 mile campus walk to my building. It's amazing how they keep your whole body so warm and dry on cold, wet days. (I do change shoes when I get to my desk- not exactly the most professional looking). :)

DOES it get cold where you live? if yes, uggs are very warm. i have two pairs of ugg boots (both were gifts from people) and have never worn them. just not my style but while i lived in ny many many people wore them. my kids have a pair each and they love them. i do wear my ugh house slippers. could die without them.
so if you liked them get them. try online first to see if they're cheaper: dillards.com carries them so does www.6pm.com

I would NEVER get a pair UNTIL I put them on and my feet warmed up instantly. Now I have 2 casual boots, slippers for the house, and a going out fun leather boot.

Check online, just make sure you get them from a reputable place. YOu can go to the official UGG website & they will have a link to all their reputable dealers. There are a ton that are on sale right now, up to 70% off. I have a local boutique that sells them so I get mine from there.

Peronsally...I think they look ridiculous. I don't mean to be insulting. I just think they look frumpy/dumpy on everybody.

But, it IS still a trend, yes.
I see them all over the place around here.

I have three pair and I wear them quite a bit. They are the warmest, most comfy shoes ever. :)

I don't really like them, maybe I would have felt differently about them when I was a teen...I prefer cowboy boots or the slick knee-high vinyl/pleather boots. From what I have seen on forums, most people (men and women) don't like UGG boots either. If you find them cute, comfy, and affordable though, go ahead and buy them, you shouldn't care what other people think. Do what feels right for you and wear what makes you feel attractive and comfortable. Good luck!

They are aptly named ... UGG!

And that is all I will say. :)

I don't like the look of the originals, but LOVE the knit ones with big buttons on them - yes super comfy!
I think you do run the risk (when wearing uggs) of being labeled as someone who thinks they are still in college. Careful what outfit you wear them with:)

I love them and dread the warmer weather because I'll have to stop wearing them! They are totally fashionable. Cute with leggings or skinny jeans! And the most comfortable shoes in the world :)

I don't love the classic Uggs on grownups. But they do feel great so I can see what you mean. How about Uggs sneakers-esp in TX you would probably get more use out of them. They are lined with the shearling as well. http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/ugg-australia-evera-suede-sne...

Or you could get a cheap dupe of the boot just for loafing in your house. I hear good things about the Costco version.

I think they're okay to wear. But don't wear them when it's warm outside and you wear them with shorts! Only wear them when it's freezing cold.

I always thought they looked slouchy until........I was given a pair of knock
offs.
Wow, they are comfortable & I'm always cold.
As a SAHM (tired of wearing tennis & flip flops since I can't wear heels
anymore & flats hurt my feet), I love them.
I see no reason to spend that much (my SD has 4 pair) so I think a good
knock off is a great way to stay warm, look a little bit with it and most
importantly be comfy!
