Hi Moms...I've been having this problem and I still can't sleep to find a solution.

I just had my 4th child and my lack of sleep has made me look TIRED. :(

I was wondering if there is any tricks or eye cream that will help diminish the dark circles AND when I DO use a concealer...what can I do to make it NOT look so cakey? I still want my make up to look natural. HELP!

What can I do next?

For coverage, Amazing Cosmetics concealer is great! The small tube is about $28, but lasts me around 10 months. They have a variety of colors. You can get it online or at Ulta. I have a problem with dryness under my eyes, and this has never made me dry or flaky. I've been using it for about 3 years.

Hope this helps!

I am a Arbonne consultant and a mother of three so I totally understand the bags and tired mom look. There is a great I cream that works wonderful and does not make the make up look crappy. I am not a huge makeup person but I actually feel like it looks better when I use the eye cream. If you are interested I can giv you more info and not sure where you live but I can send you samples as well to try it.
Best of luck!

Hi Mama-
I went to Sephora and got 2 samples. One is Skyn Iceland for stressed skin (lack of sleep equals stress in my book) and it is one you can put on throughout the day whenever you need a pick me up. However, if you use makeup, I suggest trying a sample of hylexin. I noticed it in Sephora because it has a picture of a lady with a seriously dark streak under her eye- almost football like. Anyway, my circles are pretty light in comparison, but this still worked. You don't want to put anything over it, though. It has something in it that acts like a concealer and brightens the area. If you try to layer stuff, it gets a little weird. But by itself (you can wear foundation of course without an issue), it is really fantastic. Just go into the store and ask for a sample of it. They will give you enough for a couple of weeks. If you like it, buy it. If you hate it, sample something else.
Another option is to go somewhere like Macy's where they have a bobbi brown counter. They have a really great, velvety eye cream and can match a concealer (they blend the 2 for maximum results and will do it for you as a sit down consult. you can try it out for the day and if you like it, come back and purchase). A last idea is to make an appointment at sephora with a lady to go over your options.
Natural options: green tea bags. Get them nice and steamy, then let them cool. While wet, place over eyes for 20 minutes. The caffeine mixed with the antioxidants in the green tea should help. Do this daily. If you want a super cheap option, get a really rich eye cream (moisturizing) and mix a little concealer with it. Dab that on each morning after your shower.
I like the stuff from sephora and also some stuff from my avon lady. Avon can get you samples to try as well. Just read through the catalogue and test the ones that you think are good ideas. If you love them, purchase. If you hate them, no harm done.
Good luck mama!

FAV eye cream is Shiseido benefiance in small tub. Been using for 15 years. Apply, let soak in, then try YSL Touche Eclat for dark circles. It can be used under or over foundation. THE BEST!
Hope it works out for you.

Get the right color match first of all for concealor. get a little on your fingertip and dab it on, do not smear or rub it on. just keep dabbing or patting gently all over the area until it's blended. I dont use a lot of make up at all and when I do it's almost always drug store inexpensive brands. BUT a friend of mine had an Arbonne party and I bought concealor which I love. Their cream concealer in a small light green round tub works so good I will never use anything else again. The color is perfect for me (that depends on your skin tone) but also it goes on so nice (pat pat pat it on with my fingertip) and it blends so well and stays on all day.

Lancome makes a concealer (beige) that you put under a trio of colors pink, yellow & green to hide dark under eye circles or bruising.
It works great for dark under eye circles. Just ask them for that and describe just what I described.

Look into the Mary Kay firming eye cream or the Mary Kay revitalizer. Both work great for dark circles. Make sure you are using an eye cream before applying the concealer so it will go on smoother.

I went to a Mary Kay party last week and we used a great eye cream!! When we put it on one eye, you could totally tell the difference!!! I can't afford it right now (it's $30) but it's on my b-day/Christmas list for sure!

Hi MC,
I've had the same issues. I tried splurging on some Mary Kay products (the eye cream and the other face care products) but have been really disappointed. I bought some cheaper cream by Neutrogena and it worked much better. The Mary Kay stuff doesn't have any of the top ingredients in them (the face moisturizer has no Retinol, and yet costs $22). I still use some of the MK eye cream, just to use it up b/c it cost $30 but I am going to switch to Neutrogena eye cream next. I do really like the MK concealer/makeup products though. They cover nicely and aren't too cakey. Although now hearing about Arbonne on here, I think I may try them! Good luck!

I think my dark circles are permanent fixtures since becoming a mom! I've tried a Cover Girl one, an Estee Lauder one, and most recently an Aveda one. I like the Aveda the best so far, as it's a good thickness so you're not patting your dark circles all day. But in reality, I'm not sure the brand matters so much. I think the key is more doing the gentle pat, pat, pat that another person mentioned -- don't rub it in. And make sure it's exactly the right shade. I actually have to use one shade in the winter and a slightly darker one in the summer or my dark circles become more noticeable with concealer than without! Hope that helps a bit and good luck!
