I need an idea for my stepdtr's Easter basket.
She's 13.
She pretty much throws away anything I give her just because it's from me.
But I don't want to leave her out.
That just doesn't feel right and that just isn't me.
I can't spend too much but I thought I might get some ideas from you smart mamas.
She wears a tiny bit of make up & her only hobby right now is getting on her computer or phone, She doesn't really read much.
What do you ladies suggest?

My 7th grader is getting Mascara, iTunes giftcard, fancy chapstick like softlips, and a bunch of candy. I considered movie tickets, Starbucks gift card, and money. Oh and I got her a dress from Target (still can believe she wants to wear something girly!!)
Fill her basket with plastic eggs and put coins or dollar bills in each one. I guarantee she won't throw THAT gift away! You are doing the right thing by including her, despite her nasty attitude. (what does your hubby say about that, by the way?) Good luck!
How about an ITunes gift card? She can put the music on her computer, and if she has an ipod, she can put it on there too. Maybe you can mix a couple of them in with some chocolates. I bet she wouldn't throw that away!! Good luck and have a Happy Easter!!!!

Okay as a fellow stepmom with the same kind of relationship, I have to put my first gut response.....since she throws away anything you give her, why not some scented trash bags? :-)
Hello, Maybe you could give her a basket with a little candy, and a gift card for a beauty supply shop, or a salon (for a manicure/pedicure), or a gift card for a young person's clothing store. That way, she can pick out her own things. I don't try to buy for any of my older grandkids. I get them gift cards or give them cash.

My first thought while reading your post was for you to get her an Itunes gift card so I agree with the others =)
