Ear Tubes - Houston,TX

My almost three year old just had her second set of tubes "installed" on Thursday. She still seems to be a little off balance. She hadn't even started walking when she got the first set, so I don't remember this being a problem.

Any one else experience this with their children? She wasn't terribly infected at the time of the surgery so there wasn't a big change in difference of pressure in her ears.

I will be calling the ENT tomorrow, but just wanted to make sure that I am not imagining something.

Also, did anyone notice any lingering effects from the anesthesia...like abnormal tantrum activity?

What can I do next?

My 4 yr old had this done for the first time 4 weeks ago , I didn't notice any balance issues and she seemed a little tired the rest of the day , but the day after she was back to normal.

It is not uncommon for little ones to be cranky post-op and yes, some forms of anesthesia can make them irritable. It should pass within 24 hours.

Could be she is more aware of how she is feeling. Do call the ENT and in the meantime just have daughter rest more. She probably just does not feel like herself and does not understand why.
