Hi!
I am due in September with baby #2 and my daughter will be 3 1/2. I need a good double stroller-- one that is easy and will accomodate both ages. What are some recommendations or ones to avoid. I just want something easy that doesn't take forever to load and unload. Any other must haves/suggestions for kids with this age difference would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I have a 2 1/2 year old and 1 year old so we use our double stroller a bunch. I researched and tested almost every stroller on the market. I didn't want to pay a ton of money for one either. I bought the Combi Twin Savvy LX and I love it. It is very light weight, fits through all doors, it is a side by side, it has a cup holder for both children and a snack holder in the middle (hard to find on most double strollers). The main feature I love is that it tri-folds so it does not take up much room. It also has an infant boot for your newborn. Look for it online I think it cost like $300.

Side by sides aren't good for shopping, appointments etc since they don't fit very well. You also may not want your older child side by side to your infant. I bought a Graco double stroller and it is great. Older kid in front with cup, snack holder etc. Infant in back with seat down or you can attach the infant car seat to it even witht he older child in front. Think it was about 150 to 200.

I heard not to get the side by side as it's too wide for mall aisles and such. I had a Graco one I got on clearance with the front and back seats. It was too bulky and was easy to load and unload. When my 2nd was a baby, I'd recline the back seat and he could sleep back there while the older one could look out and see things. Then, as the baby got bigger, he moved to the front where the older one could see over his head. With a 3 1/2 year old already, I wouldn't spend too much money on one as she won't be in it too much longer.

My first double stroller was a double jogger from NordicTrac and I really liked it. It was easy to handle, folded nicely, and had baskets. That was w/ my first two kids and they are 7 and 8 now. I also have a 1 yr old and 3 yr old and when the baby was born I bought a Baby Trend Sit and Stand. It didn't last long in our house. It was too long, hard to get around in stores, my baby could not recline back if my older child wanted to sit and it was so hard to get in and out of my vehicle. I just bought a Maclaren Twin Triumph...I LOVE IT!!! It is leightweight, fits easily in my car, and I can open a door with one hand and push the stroller in with the other with no problem. I wish I would have had this a year ago. Good luck with baby #2!

I'd consider getting a 'sit and stand' type stroller. I believe mine is baby trend. With having a 3 year old, they get heavy and moving them in and out gets to be difficult. We ditched our double stroller for this one and has been awesome. My oldest is now 4 1/2 and does great with it still. Also, if your 3 year old is quite big, it can get heavy with some of the double strollers.
