Do You Love Your Cell Phone And/or Computer?

I'm looking to buy a new cell phone. It will replace my current cell and my home phone. Of course, it needs to make super clear calls from anywhere and a good navigation system would be great. Also, battery life is important. I've heard great things about the Iphone and Droid. What do you suggest and why? How much does the phone cost?
I,also, need a new computer. Just need it for home use like accessing email and FB and typing up some letters and flyers for PTA. I love the idea of skyping(sp?), but have never tried it. What computer do you love and why? Cost? Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Even though the majority of people said they loved the Macbook, we've decided to stay with a PC. However, I'm still in doubt about which new cell to purchase. I lean towards the Droid, but so many of my friends love their iphone that I just can't decide. Thanks for the input!!

One more vote for MacBook Pro. If we didn't already have a commitment with a different cell company I would go with the Iphone because I am a mac person.

I have a purple Dell Inspiron laptop and I love it! I use it mostly for internet and some Excel and Word. It works great. I think it was around 5-600 and we financed through Dell, paying it off in 6 months before it started accruing interest.

hi -
I got my computer a couple of years ago. since i am trying to save for a new car I did not get my 1st choice (a mac which my mom has and loves). Instead since I did not need a fancy computer - just one for FB, e-mail, surfing the web, microsoft office and photoshop. Thus i went to best buy and found an AWESOME deal on a desk top HP Pavilion Slimline - it also has a CD player, a media card slot to download pictures, 2 GB ram, and pentium processor. It cost me UNDER $400! well worth it!

My family of 3 all have IPhones and love them. I especially like it because when I head out of town a day or two, I don't need to take my computer along. I can do all my email, etc on the phone. LOVE our IPhones, great service, no problems with dropped calls, etc. We are in the DFW area.

We each have Dell laptops. Daughter has a Latitude which is very durable. We paid around $2000 for it (3 yrs ago) It is a good computer, she does a lot of research, power point, school activities as well as social networking.

Hubby has a Dell (newest model at our house), less than $1500 and loves it.

I have the oldest Dell XPS and LOVE it. Mine is about 4 yrs old and we paid a little over $3000 for it. Great machine. I run our business on my computer with QuickBooks.

We have a wireless printer and we just go pick up our printing as needed in our home office. We typically work on the computers in the kitchen, etc. I have a very large area and we all tend to hang out in this area.

The only thing we are not crazy about is the Vista program. It works well but sometimes does not work with other systems. EX: a school project done at home on Vista did not work at the school on their system. Daughter carried her laptop to school to present...not my favorite thing to do.

We like Best Buy. Hubby's computer came from Best Buy. Good pricing, good service. Computers for daughter and myself came from Dell. Again, good service. We don't send the computer back if it has an issue, an agent comes to our house to make repairs.

Good luck

why yes , yes I do.
I have a Droid, the first one and I STILL love it a year later. It has so many great apps! There's one called keyring that keeps all those annoying little cards that you keep on your keyring , the discount and club cards, so you don't have to carry them around. That's just one in a long list of cool free apps.
My new last year awesome computer is a toshiba Qosmio. It's SO fast and has great sound.
the phone was 99$ for the two of them on a great deal with verizon , and the laptop I got at best buy for 1500

I LOVE my iphone and my MacBook!! My husband and I both have them. We also purchased mobile me which syncs all your email, contacts, calendars without actually connecting the device to your computer. With mobile me you can do a find my iphone if it is ever lost or misplaced. You can get an iphone starting at $199 (subsidized with a 2 year ATT contact), a MacBook starting at $999 and mobileme for $99 single or $149 for the family pack. Now why do I love it? There are many, many reasons but just to name a few......
They just work perfectly together. I don't worry about my MacBook crashing or any viruses because Macs don't get viruses. Also the customer service is spectacular. If I ever have an issue I go into the Apple store and for free they will diagnose the issue. If they can fix right there they will, if they can't they can send it out for repair. As far as for the iphone. If it is still under warranty and there is an issue, they will switch it out right there in the store. No sending it out. If you do go with the Mac option, I would highly suggest you purchase it in the Apple store and not from another retailer. Also, if you are new to Apple I would go into an Apple store. The people that work there love the product and are happy to educate you on it and give you recommendations on the product that fits your needs. They are not gung ho on selling you the most expensive item but one that works for you. I hope this information helps you on a decision. Good Luck!

I LOVE my computer... but its very expensive. MacBookPro at about 2500.

I'm not super techy (that's my husband), and mostly I use it for writing, photos, & movies... but I really needed something that would last for several years. The tech in my laptop (and the ability to easily change out components for 100 here, 300 there) should keep it current and useable for the next 5-10 years which is also important to me.

Our son has the much less expensive MacBook (at about 800), and it's also fantastic.

What I love the most (aside from that I'll be able to use it for a long time), is how flippin' fast they are. Very, very, fast. Almost as fast as the $6k Alienware ones (before Dell bought them).

I have an I-phone and a macbook computer. I would buy that combination again! It is a great combination because I am able to sync everything very easily. I have service through A T & T. coverage is usually good, but there are some area were dropped calls are frequent because of high tower traffic or placement.
