Dentist in Gilbert Area

I am looking for in the Gilbert area for a dentist to take my 3 year old son. I have read good things about both Timber Falls Pediatric (Dr. Quackenbush) and East Valley Pediatric Dentistry (Dr. Johnson). Has anybody used these dentists for their kids? Also, any other suggestions would be helpful too. I am looking for somewhere that will not frighten my son from going ot the dentist for the rest of his life. I am looking for someone that has reasonable rates as well since we will be paying cash for the services.

I am also looking for a new dentist for my husband and I. We have Conventry Heathcare and have had REALLY bad luck with dentists in the area. It seems like they all want to either sell us products or do work that is not necessary just to earn money (as if they are not making enough already!). My husband is also very hesitant when it comes to dentists so we need someone gentle!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hi, I actually work for Dr. Johnson. He really is a great dr. He is great with the kids. I've only worked for him for about 4 months and it's my first time in a pediatric office, but he really is great! Fun office too!

Me and my kids go to Provinces Dental at McQueen and Ray. All 3 dentists are calm, caring, and thorough and the dental hygenists are great, too! I highly recommend them.

Hi A.,
I recently began taking my three year old daughter to Growing Grins in Gilbert (Higley and Chandler Heights. It's a newer office but the staff and Dr. Happy are awesome! They are mostly, if not all women, and really work well with young children. I even had them check out my 20 month old son's teeth. My daughter had a cavity which another dentist told me she would need to be sudated, however, after Dr. Happy looked at her she decided it was unnessary. I appreciated her honesty and ended up saving alot of money in unnessary dental expenses.
I am sorry that I do not have a dentist to recommend for you, as well, ours is far and takes too long inbetween visits, not so good.
I hope this info helps you in your search.

Good luck to you and your son,
Tamara Bowley

Try my dentist. It's called 1st Gentle Dentistry in Gilbert. A well designed small office with personalized, professional service. Dr.Caryn Lee and her team is so gentle and also very personable. Main thing I like about Dr.Lee is that she makes you feel very comfortable and also I could tell that she is very honest. The office is clean, and price was lower than I expected. I never waited more than 5 minutes for my appointments. www.1stgentle.com I think this is their website.

Hi! We go to Dr. Quackenbush and we LOVE him. I took my 9 year old to another dentist and they told her she had a cavity. She freaked out and then I took her to Dr. Quackenbush and he was great. He said she did not have a cavity. Also, they do the digital xrays that she was able to sit through.
I go to east west dental, on Lindsay and Warner, in the albertsons lot. I forgot his name, but he was great. THe same dentist I first took my daughter to told me I needed a lot of work, but at east west he told me I did not need it now. He was very gentle and easy going.
Let me know how it works for you!!

I know this is a little late from when you asked. But I just wanted to let you know Dr Quackenbush is an awesome dentist. I am taking my daughter there tomorrow to get some work done. On our inital vist He was really nice. Now I went to him as a second oppion so I have expierence with 2 different dentists. I must say Quackenbush never scared her once. At the other place she was non stop crying. Quackenbush, she didn't cry once. She is a very shy girl. Their office staff are super friendly and their prices I believe are fair.

Hope this helps with your decision

My Kids go to TimberFalls. Bear woodsy theme, fun area for the kids in the waiting area. THe hygenists give them big teeth and toothbrushes to practice on, sunglasses to wear, and a treasure box (plus your goodie bag of toothpaste, brush, floss etc.) My kids LOVE to go to the dentist, and that's how I want to keep it.

As for adults, I've tried Mona Lisa, and it's not been the best experience yet. Good technology though. You get to see the cavities, and the xrays are more digital than anything, so you cut down on wait time. They show you the screen with your pics, and point out what they are looking at. Helps me feel like I can trust them when I have a big 8x10 of my back molar to see for myself the "necessary" work.

A.,

Our daughter is now 5 years old and we have taken her to Dr Quackenbush since she was 2. I recommend him whenever I can. He has a wonderful bedside manner. My daughter is very nervous and has a high pitched scream and he and his staff have never shown any type of disappointment or frustration with her. They are all kind, caring people and top it off with a top notch Dentist, well you really can not go wrong.

Hi, A.. I am an Office Manager for a wonderful Pediatric Office in Chandler. We refer a lot of our patients to Arizona Pediatric Dentistry. They are in Chandler. Their phone number is ###-###-####. I haven't heard anything but praise for them from the patients we refer there. Maybe that will help.

Good luck finding a good pediatric dds. I wish i could recommend one, but i don't know the pediatric network that well in AZ. I agree that if you are cash paying and do not have insurance dictating your provider, to take your child to a pediatric office--they are better equipped to introduce kids into the world of teeth cleanings and stress-free dental work. Also (just some advice)...if you are cash paying and willing to ask, some offices will honor around 10% off. I was a dental office manager for 5 yrs and most the offices i worked at rewarded cash paying customers a discount off the top becuase we did not have to involve insurance billing and other costly measures. Dr Oswald on Val Vista/Ray is a good honest guy if you need a Gilbert area family DDS. He is NEVER pushy or into selling you the lateset spinbrush and unecessary products; just thourough, freindly and CLEAN (I know becuase i worked for him...) Let us know who you choose and if you find a good place for your kid!

I used Quackenbush years ago. He pulled a tooth for my daughter who is now almost 11. He is very nice and so is his office staff. However it turned out he wasn't on our insurance (bummer) so we haven't been back. Our family uses Whiting Dental (they are on Southern between Greenfield and Higley) and have been very pleased. He has been in the Phoenix magazine as one of the top dentists. Good luck

I have the BEST dentist in Mesa. Worth driving for...His name is Dr. Curtis Clifford and he went out of his way to meet me on a Saturday when my tooth was absessing. I have always been happy with him, he's really easy to talk to and if I want to wait on a filling, for $ sake, he's perfectly ok with that, no lectures. We have been going to him for 7 or 8 years and after trying many other dentists, we wouldn't go anywhere else. Also their staff is EXCELLENT! His office is on Power and Brown.

Our pediatric dentist is also AMAZING (Dr. Clifford refered him to us) Our kids love to go because Dr. Lout is so nice and he explains things and really talks to the kids. He is on Recker and Brown.

If you can't find the phone numbers let me know.

Good Luck

Dr. Quakckenbush at Timber Falls is great. The hygenists are good with kids too which is a major plus. My older kids have both been there twice and had examinations and teeth cleanings. They are 4 and 2. The cash price however is a lot, about 100/kid. Hope this helps!!

I don't have any leads on adult dentists. We have Coventry dental too but it allows us to go to any dentist at all. We have had nothing but bad luck with adult dentist and we have seen quite a few.

We do use Dr. Quackenbush. He and his team are absolutely wonderful. If a child is hesitant about something (in my case it was xrays), they wait and don't push it. I have heard them say several times that they don't want to push things as they don't want a child to be afraid of coming to the dentist. Their lobby has a log cabin and other things for the kids to play with. Another bonus is that I have never waited very long when I got there--maybe 5 minutes of waiting.

I was told when my children were small that you should hold your child on the first visit as it comforts them.

Hopefully this helps.
