What is the age to start taking your child to the dentist for check-ups? I have a 2-year old who has almost all of his teeth. He (with my help) brushes them 3x a day and his teeth look great. I'm just curious when kids are supposed to start dental care? I've heard anywhere from 2-5 years of age. He's already on my insurance so I'd also like to have a pediatric dentist in mind in case of an emergency (with a 2 year old there's no telling what can happen!). I'd welcome any suggestions on a childrens practice in the Marietta area. Thanks in advance!
The pediatrician told me 2 years old when I asked yesterday. The nurse told me 3. Hope that helps!

You will hear anything from 1 to 4. I took my daughte ron her first trip when she was 3.
I do not have a recommendation for Marietta, but Alpharetta Children's Dentistry is awesome! They have a mini-movie theater and an arcade for the kids!!
And the entire staff including Dr. Master was so gentle and aptient with my daughter.

We first took our son, who is now 5, to a pediatric dentist when he was about 2 -- if I remember correctly! That first appointment is to mostly get them used to sitting in the chair and letting the hygentist look around in there. Depending how cooperative the child is, they might do some more checking and possibly and x-ray and/or fluoride treatment. You're right to put your son on your dental insurance now, because you never know when an emergency will arise. We've been very happy with Dr. David Bradberry, D.M.D. on Johnson Ferry. He is not only a great dentist, but he is an MD (physician) also, so he can treat a wide range of issues should they come up. Good luck!
