Daughter's 7Th Birthday

My daughter is turning 7 years old in March and has never had a birthday party besides relatives coming over. Any ideas of where we can invite her school class of 14-20 kids? She's gone to other parties at Pump it Up, bowling, Libby Lu's, Chuck E Cheese. With the birthday in March, we can't really plan outside activities like Deanna Rose.

Any other places I should consider?

Thanks,
J. in Olathe, KS

What can I do next?

I would recommend the Wonderscope children's museum in Shawnee ###-###-####). We had my son's 5th birthday party there, and the kids all enjoyed it. It is in a former elementary school, and each room has a different theme - a space room, a "grocery store", a doctor's office, a garden room, an art room - and everything is very hands on so the kids can each do their own thing. And the museum provides cupcakes and juice in the party room for the kids so you do not even have to bring a cake. Parents do need to attend with their kids, though, because there is no way you can keep all the kids together while they are exploring the museum.

Belle Brigade Parties and Boutique for Girls comes to your house, brings costumes, does a dance routine/party, and does hair, makeup, nails, and brings the goody bags, music, red carpet, and everything!!!

Valley View United Methodist Church has a large gym with off court rooms. You can rent it for a couple of hours. They have all kinds of balls, hula hoops, parachute, and you can even rent a bounce house. I have had both my kids parties there and it is a blast. The kids do not want to leave. You really don't have to plan any special games. The kids just have a great time running around being crazy. The price isn't to bad and it doesn't matter how many kids you invite. I had kids from the age of two to ten at the same time and they all had fun. Contact: Susann Bendrick

We did an ice skating party at Pepsi Ice for our 7th. It was really fun. You could also do a swimming party at Midwest Aquatics - kind of fun in the spring - indoor heated pool. Also, Build-a-Bear does a good party and you can bring a cake to the food court.

Hi J.,

One place that I recently went for my daughter is AKKA Karate in 79th street just beside the library, passing Quivira to the East.

It is a lot of fun and they don't charge you per child, it is only $80 and they include the cake, disposables and a piñata plus lots of games (they even let them use the Makoto!!!Kids go crazy for this game!), they might charge for an extra cake after 18 or 20 kids. I am alredy planning my daughter 's B-day there....

Let me know if you are interested I can send you their website or phone number.

Best wishes!
