My four year old son loves to dance and I have been thinking of putting him in a dance class. I am not sure if I should do ballet or tap or if there is just a basic dance class at this age. Does anyone know of a good dance school in Richardson or Garland for 4 year olds?

Hi. My name is H. Miller and when I saw this I thought I should respond. If you are still looking for dance for your son, I have a ballet school that is presenting a workshop that woild give him a chance to see if ballet is for him. We are having a workshop for 4-6 year olds titled "Fairies in Ballet". It will include a chance to learn a variation, make a costume, and learn about the history of ballet, as well as having a fun pre-ballet class each day. The Saturday class is a showcase day when each child gets to demonstrate what he/she has learned for all their family and friends who can come. My kids two girls and a boy are at Calico Kids in Garland. They have every dance class imaginable and several music classes. They have a boys tap class and several mixed sex classes for this age. My kids have been through there preschool program, Kiddie College, and it is a really good program also. Enrollment is closed for this season, but summer enrollment is ongoing. They will have two week long sessions this summer. One in June and one in July.
My daughter started at Tuzer Dance School in Richardson when she was 3. They have ballet and tap classes. You should check them out. It's an amazing school. The owners are a married couple that danced professional all over the whole before settling down in Richardson and starting the school almost 30 years ago. They still teaches class there. If you want your child to develop correct techniques, that's the school.
