Counselor for My Nephew

My nephew is 6 years old and in kindergarten. He has always been overly aggressive. He is loud and quick to hit someone. Recently he got caught playing "sex" with the neighbor boy. This went beyond normal experimentation. He has obviously been exposed to something inappropriate. My sister lives in Batavia, OH and needs a recommendation for a counselor that will work on a sliding scale. My sister is a single mom who works full time to make ends meet.

What can I do next?

I'm happy to hear that your sister wants to find out who exposed her son to such behaviors. Many parents go into denial, even when presented with the truth.
I would call the Children's Services Department in Clermont Co. to ask them for therapists they know has experience in this area and how to handle it. It will most likely turn into an investigation and she wouldn't want inexperienced or too many people asking questions or possibly scaring the child or change his story so she can find out the facts.
Good luck! I've been through this with a relative. The mother went into denial though. It was unfortunate but in the end, the molester was removed from the children's lives. It was the mother's boyfriend.

Have your sister ask about counciling at the school if she doesn't mind them knowing. Our school district offers counciling and if you have insurance they will bill the insurance. If you do not there is no charge. If she attends church the pastor could also do counciling. I really don't think they are as qualified. I say this because many pastors I have come accross never had any training. They had the calling and never had any formal education at all. And while you don't really need it to discuss the bible you do need it to council people. Check also with the county. It's been really hard for me to find a counciler. The one I would have gone to without question has past away. He ade more sense to me than anyone else has. Good luck.

Here are two suggestions
1. There is a children's out patient at 8000 5 mile in the mercy health complex or on Eastgate blvd, surely there is a LISW/MSW or Psychiatrist available at those locations
2. There is a community mental health center in Batavia, I would contact the clermont Mercy hospital and ask for resources

Whatever she does, make sure she does something. Please protect your nephew.

The counselor at school should be able to make some recommendations.
