So What Happened?

I recently separated with my husband of 11 years. I haven't been and wasn't planning on having sex.I just started taking birth control again to regulate my period.I was very very excited that I got my period. One of my friends said that I could still become pregnant and should still be worried.Thank you all.

If you got your period, no you aren't pregnant.

It is too soon to tell right now. You did get your period, so that usually means no. What I suggest is that you wait a month and see howregular you are. Then if you are still concerned, call your doctor and make an appointment to get a pregnancy test in the office.

I would double check and have a good physical to make sure. It seems like the pill may not be the best for you and on to something else. I be careful going on then off again then on again, if you don't want another child. It can happen. Good luck.

It's possible, but it sounds like your hormones are out of whack because of the change in your birth control routine. Have you seen you GYN? Are you trying to become pregnant? I would take a home test if you think you could be pregnant, and schedule an appointment with you dr even if it's negative so you can work out your birth control plan and get your cycle back on the right track. Good luck!

Don't take any pills if you think you could be pregnant. Use another form of contraception or avoid sexual activity 100% until you know. See your doctor, take a pregnancy test, and then wait until you get a normal period (unaffected by pills, on or off), then decide if you want to be on the pill and use it properly. If you are not motivated to take the pill regularly, then use something else. Your doctor or any family planning clinic can go over the options, risks, costs etc. with you to help you choose a method that will work for you, your body, your personality and your lifestyle. It doesn't help you if you are not consistent - especially at low doses which are better for you overall. Remember that this is a drug and it needs to be used properly. Having bleeding that even looks like a period doesn't mean you aren't pregnant - so have a test to be sure.

maybe, maybe not. it doesn't seem like birth control/having another child is an issue for you or you would be on top of your birth control. i hope that whatever the outcome is, it's that you are (you all) healthy and happy :) i am sure your hormones are doing a number on you right now...ugh!! good luck!!
