Can you get contacts if you are prescribed reading glasses? I wear them 90% of the time any ways. I just would not have to tug and pull and find glasses all the time!!!
I know that you can get contacts with a prescription for one eye to handle nearsidedness and the other to handle farsidedness. My eye doctor suggested it for me. Sorry - no way, not for me.

I wear glasses.. bifocals actually. I have never tried contacts but have heard they now make them in bifocal ability. It might be possible to have contacts just for reading up close. Just call your favorite eye Dr and ask.

They also make bifocal contacts now, as well. Bottom half your reading scrip, top half "blank" in your case.
I worked for an eye doctor, and we were prescribing contacts all the time to people who needed bifocals. They have bifocal contact lenses, and they have progressive contact lenses. The bifocals of course have just your distance and your reading rx. The progressive lenses will include your computer rx as well. (You generally read closer up than the computer screen is) It will all depend on what your prescription is, and what you need. They also as some others mentioned, have monovision. This is where the doctor prescribes one contact for one eye to have a reading rx, and the other for your distance. This works pretty well too.
You will want to get an appointment with your doctor so he can fit your for contacts. You'll want to keep in mind that it may take a little bit to get used to the contacts, not just because you will be accommodating for your reading and distance, but also because they are contacts. Some brands feel better on some people than others, and if you don't like the first ones, go back for a follow-up and let your dr know.
Well the only way that you can get good vision for both far and near is to get mono vision through an eye doctor. It's where one eye (the dominant eye) is corrected for seeing far and the other is fitted for near. It can take time to find the perfect match but having a good patient doctor helps. I tried a few years back and then gave up but I have been wearing mono vision for the past year and it's great!

You might be able to, depends on the strength... but you will have to go to the eye doctor to get fitted, check out and so on. The rule of thumb is you have to get an eye exam and "new eye perscription" yearly to order each new year.
It depends on a lot of things. Do you need the reading glasses just for normal vision? If you were watching tv or looking in the yard, with no reading? I don't know if you read 90% of the time lol. Just kidding. Contacts come in very low prescriptions so yeah, I would think you could get them, but I'd pop into wal-mart or america's best and make sure (you'll need a contact exam to get them anyways) those 2 stores seem to have the best prices on contacts.
