I just googled "make a pinata" and a bunch of cool sites came up. There are also videos on youtube.com if you type in the same thing in their search box. If you have the time to do it yourself (and maybe the kids might think it's fun?), maybe that's the way to go. They take about 24 hours to dry, though. Enjoy!
