Hi Ladies,
I am considering changing from dispoables to cloth disper. My son has a persistent diaper rash that is only under controll when i cover him thickly in rash cream. I have tryed everything else there is to do, all the creams, corn starch, letting him air out(which resulted in him pooping on the carpet and palying with it:( what a mess) and different brands of diapers. So i think i need to swicht.
My question to you is where is there a place that i can go who sells cloth diapers that has good service to help me out? I went to babies r us thinking they have everything and all they had were Gerber diapers and vinly pants. Also any recommendation for a heavy wetter would be apperciated.

Thanks Everyone,
I am not going to use a serivce becuase we don't have the extra monye and there are none that dilver in my area. I would have to go to them. But i decided on the Bum Genius 3.0. They are one size from 8-35 pounds and seem to clean pretty well. I found a store in Laffette, teh nurture center, that had what i needed.
Thanks for all good adivce.

Try Naturebaby Diapers. They are compostable and biodegradeable. They are also disposables. Found online and at Target. WELL worth it! I have also heard good things about gdiapers. They are kinda the cross between disposable and cloth. If you get cloth I would recommend the prefolds. Google gdiapers. I know that down here in San Diego where I'm at for now they carry them at health food stores so you might try Whole Foods.

Actually the service provides the diapers, you don't buy them. If you decide to keep a few (they are very handy to have around) then you can. Look under Diaper Service in your area.

I have experience with heavy wetters. There's something that's sold, I've been it in toys r us, it looks like a big, flattened sanitary napkin. The package used to be pink. For the life of me I can remember the name of the product. Anyway, I would use two of these things, folded over, which gave my son four extra layers. It really helped.

Good luck!

A.,

My little one is in cloth diapers and we use a service, http://tinytots.com/. They deliver and pick up once a week and it is great. They have a store in Campbell, so you can go in, talk with them and and since it's family run, the team there has a lot of knowledge. You may not need to use their service- they sell all sorts of items, so I bet you can pick up everything you need from them to get started. Let me know if you'd like more details.

Hi A.,
At first, we used disposables with our twin boys (now 10-mth-old), but when they were 8 mth-old switched to the cloth diapers. I just couldn't tolerate the thought of generating so much trash, which will stay in the landfill for hundreds of years. So I've done a lot of research, and decided on Bum Genius Diapers. They are pretty absorbent, hold moisture well, and "grow" with the baby. They have a snap-on system, which allows you to make them bigger or smaller. A good feature given the investment ($18/diaper). The cons are that they are from synthetic materials, although absorbent, they also give an occasional rush to our boys, especially, if they wear them for more than 3-4 hours. So you'd have to change them more often, and thus you need at least 2 days worth of diapers for your son. There is a very large variety of cloth diapers out there, and you can check them out on amazon.com, or just google.com The main reason I chose Bum Genious, is that they had excellent reviews (the best, as far as I could tell), they were $18 per diaper (but last from 5lb to 35lb) and they look OK. I'm happy with them so far. It adds work to your daily load though, but it is worth it for the baby and for the environment ! I wish they would be more natural (but natural fabrics, just get soaked with the urine and feel wet to baby's skin.) Also, Bug Genius come with inserts, so when you assemble them or wash them, you have to take the inserts out (or put them in). There are diapers out there which are called All-In-One, meaning you do not have to take the inserts, they are sewn in, but they do not hold moisture as well. I got 2 of AIOs but they leaked after 2 hours of use, and they felt totally wet inside. So you can learn more about Bum Genius here:
