SO my son needs to move out of the infant seat and I want to move him onto his
sisters britax roundabout convertable seat which means I will need to buy her a
new seat/ booster. So do we get the britax frontier or the britax parkway. The
frontier is a 5 point and goes to 85 lb the parkway goes to 100 lb and converts
to a backless booster. She is 5 and 42 lbs and 44 ". Any advise?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks... I was leaning towards the frontier anyway because of the 5 point harness. The other was just half the price so I wondered if it would do the job as well.
Appreciate your input. All except the person who didn't answer the question at all.

I would say get a booster. If she's 5 it will be easier to do a booster for her since she's getting older and bigger. Plus, if you start doing carpool with her for school or sports, a booster is a lot easier to deal with.

All car seats on the market meet the safety regs for this country. It would be illegal to sell O. that isn't.

That said, did you know that 80% of car seats are installed or used incorrectly? Better to spend 30 mins of your life by going to a certified professional to look at YOUR child, in THEIR car seat in YOUR car than to fret over which to buy.

It could save your child's life. Here are 2 links to find a local, FREE inspector near you.

Frontier, hands down.
My DD is 5.5, 45lbs. and closer to 50". She still rides comfortably in the 5pt. harness in this seat.
Since the Frontier converts to a booster later on it's the best of both worlds. Keeping your child in the 5pt. harness as long as possible is safest.
And if your boy is like mine (heavier than his sister) you may need to move him out of the Roundabout earlier than you did w/ her. Then you can invest in a cheaper booster for her.
Kids are expensive. But it's worth it to keep them safe. ;)
HTH!

My soon-to-be 6 year old still rides in the Frontier. According to the Britax website, the Frontier can be used as a booster for up to 120lbs.

another vote for the frontier - you'll definitely get your money's worth out of it because when your son outgrows the roundabout or it expires whichever comes first (6 years from date of manufacture IIRC - the manual will tell you) whichever comes first, you can move him to the Frontier and by then move your DD to a regular booster.

I would go with the parkway... The longer you can use it the better! Especially since your son will most likely wind up in that too. As long as it still meets safety standards. :)

I would go with the frontier. The chances of your daughter being in a car seat until she is 100 lbs are slim, and I would want a 5 point harness as long as I can. You can always get a backless booster for as low as $15.

We have a different brand (Graco nautilus) but my 5 year old son is 56 lbs and still in a 5 point harness as long as it fits. The Frontier looks like a good seat. If the Parkway is the booster only then go with the harness as long as you can since it is much safer.
