I DRIVE A HONDA ELEMENT AND I AM LOOKING TO BUY A CONVERTABLE CARSEAT FOR MY 7 MONTH OLD. I'VE LOOKED INTO THE BRITAX MARATHON AND THE BRITAX BOULEVARD. I WONDERED IF ANYONE ELSE HAD A HONDA ELEMENT AND COULD TELL ME HOW THIS WORKED OUT OR WHICH SEAT THEY CHOSE AND WHY. AND ALSO - IN GENERAL WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THESE TWO SEATS ALL TOGETHER. RIGHT NOW MY SON IS IN AN EDDIE BAUER (BULKY) INFANT CARRIER, AND ONLY WEIGHS 17# SO HE'S GOOD FOR ANOTHER MONTH OR TWO IN IT ACCORDING TO THE HWY PATROL OFFICER THAT INSTALLED IT. IF YOU OWN A HONDA ELEMENT - YOU KNOW MY PAIN! WE BOUGHT THE CAR, AND THEN SUPRISE - WE WERE PREGNANT!

What can I do next?

Ditto the Britax Marathon!! I have a Honda Civic and it fits fine. Baby loves it and you can use it for years as they grow if you want. Definitely worth the expense! I got mine from albeebaby.com -free shipping and usually about 10 bucks cheaper than other sites.

Hi Sarah. I have 2 Britax Marathons. I love them and would not trade them for anything, but they are big. We found that our kids are much happier in these than any others( grandparents carseats) because they are much more comfortable. I am a huge fan of anything Britax makes. I would glady give up a bit more room for comfort and safety.

Hi, Sarah. While I do not own an Element, I can tell you that my sister has used a Britax (although I'm not sure which particular model) and she absolutely loves it! She used a Britax infant seat and when her children were heavy enough/old enough, she put them in forward-facing Britax seats. She said it was money well spent. Good luck!

We went with the Britax Marathon which was highly recommended online by many comsumers one being a police officer that has bought 2 for his own children. I have a Hyundai Tuscon which is a very small SUV and I like having our seat in the middle which really leaves no room for other people in the back. For his safety and comfort, not to mention I have a very tall 16 month old that was already in this seat when he was 10 months old, it has been worth it. It reclines as do my back seats for passenger comfort. It's cushy and our baby seems to be happy in it.

Sarah,

I just purchased the Britax Marathon car seat for our 2 year old and we love it. I chose the Marathon because I found it more "plush" that the Boulevard. Prior to this one I had the Britax Roundabout which I also loved, but he outgrew it. I am not sure about your car, but I would not think you should have a problem. Britax is wonderful and my favorite! I have been thru 3 other car seats including Eddie Bauer, which I did not find easy to adjust. Good luck, A.

Babies R Us carries all the Britax models and even if you don't end up buying it there (albeebaby.com frequently has these on sale plus free shipping so is cheaper) you can always go there to see if it fits in your car, if you leave your drivers liscense at customer service they let you take teh floor models to yoru car to try them. This is what I did when i bought my Roundabout, I will however probably be getting a Marathon this time to use when they are too tall for the Roundabout. I prefer the Decatholon for the padding but have heard mixed reveiws on the ease of adjusting the straps
