My Son is just about 8 weeks old, We recently transitioned off of milk based formulas to a soy based due to suspicion of him being lactose intolerant. We now don't not believe it was the issue, he just was more gassing than anything. What is the safest way to transition him back to a milk based formula?

What can I do next?

At 8 weeks, he's still very, very young. I would talk to your pediatrician about this. His system is still so delicate. Your pediatrician is really your best resource.

At 8 weeks, I wouldn't be fooling around with this without working directly with a pediatrician whose office is recording everything you are doing (dates/symptoms/more) or a consultant. Making a lot of changes is a good way to upset a sensitive and immature digestive system. Unless and until the lactose issue has been completely ruled out by including talks with an objective person/office, I wouldn't change yet again.

Talk to the Dr before making changes.

You don't know the issue. Have the Dr figure it out.

You should consult your baby's pediatrician for advice on this. It's dangerous to seek such case-specific medical advice about a potentially serious condition from strangers on the internet. The only proper course is to contact your pediatrician.

I don't think we've ever mixed formulas, we just switched. If he's having to much gas then the formula is probably the problem. If it hasn't changed why not just leave him on this formula? It won't make any difference, right?

We've had kiddos on milk based and kiddos on soy based and they all did fine.
