I am due in Feb and am excited to buy one of those cute slings you see everyone wearing. They weren't big when I had either one of my daughters 3-1/2 and 5 yrs ago! I went online to buy one and realized there are a ton of different ones out there. Can you give me some advice on how to buy one and also which ones you liked best? thanks!

What can I do next?

Check out the baby bargains web boards - they have a very active community of people that use the slings and provide reviews. We used the Kangaroo Korner pouch and the Zolowear sling, both of which we loved for different situations.

The one we have is a Moby Wrap, which we love. My husband & I are both comfortable wearing it. There are different ways of "wrapping" it for different holds; these were very easy to learn after a practice wrap or two & we're able to perform them without assistance.

Ask 10 people, you'll probably get 10 different answers :) There are a lot of different slings out there. You'll mostly need to decide if you want a sling or a wrap. Personally I have both, The "Ultimate Baby Wrap" was best when my baby was a newborn. I felt very secure and it allowed both hands free in order to keep my toddler safe too. I don't really use it anymore. In fact, if you want it, PM me and I will sell it to you. Now she is a little older, I use a sling from http://www.greenpeadesigns.com/ I found it in a resale store, like new and I LOVE it. Definitely check out resale. You can get awesome deals.

You can also visit the Peppermint.com website. They have a store here located in Plano and the staff will even demo on how to wear your baby with the slings available. My personal favourite is the Moby wrap.

You might want to visit Carried Away Baby store in Arlington which carries various slings. I'm sure they'd be very helpful in finding the right one for you.

Although I thought the hotslings were the cutest ones and spent a ton of money on one, I didn't like it. My baby felt crowded and I didn't feel comfortable in it. I bought a Nojo and loved it. It's not very cute, just plain grey but it is adjustable and my husband could wear it too. I felt like the baby had more room in it and the padding was nice.
