Ergo carrier. I have old back injuries, so I can't do anything asymmetrical.

There are some places that will let you rent a carrier for a month to try it out.

My youngest is now to old to wear but I had an ERGObaby. That thing every stinking penny and then some. You can wear it 3 different ways and my son loved it. My body loved it. Most of all I loved it. I had a few others with my oldest son and hands down my ERGObaby was the best.

We tried about five different carriers including the snuggle sling things before I bought a Baby Bjorn. One of my best baby purchases. Was ergonomically sound, comfortable, very secure, easy to use. I highly recommend Baby Bjorn.

I like my Moby Wrap. I havent used my ring sling because I've heard too many bad stories. I might use it when shes older.

I have a Mayawrap that I love! I have used it for both of my kids and occasionally still use it for my just turned 3 year old. It is very versitle. Check out their site. They have a video that shows you all the different ways to wear baby-from newborn to toddler. It was a life-saver with my high needs preemie that needed to be held all the time. It is very easy to adjust their head position and their little bottoms so they aren't lost down in the pouch.

I have used:
2 slings--hated both;

2 Infantino front carriers--way too flimsy for me to ever use with confidence;

a Sleepy Wrap--great for winter time or around the house, and especially snuggly for newborns--and good for grocery shopping when I could just tuck the baby away from the well-meaning but dirty hands of fellow shoppers. TERRIBLE for days when it is over about 78'.

this week I received my ERGObaby Sport trial (I got mine from www.heavenlyhold.com ) I LOVE this new carrier, am keeping it, and will probably never use another again. SOOO comfy, easy to put on, and my baby loves it too! (and it has a sunshade to put over the head).

I haven't had my Ergo carrier when my daughter was just born so I don't know how it works for newborns, but I can say that it was the number one baby purchase that I made. I recommend it to every new mom.

Wow, you are bored today! Then again, me too... no one at work today so I'll be putzing online all morning!

I had a sling-style and loved it! I am 5' tall and found some of the "backpack" or "front" carriers to be too long and awkward. I think it was called "pea pod", but my mother bought it for me at a baby trade show, so I'm not sure where it retails. I looked at the "wraps", but too complicated and again too long for me!

I love my baby bjorn! My kids fall asleep in it and I get things done! Baby #3 sleeps through Mass in it every Sunday- he is currently almost 8 weeks! Best purchase someone else ever made - I got mine free from a sister in law who got it for her shower but didn't care for baby wearing :)

The best gift I received at my baby shower for my first child was a Baby Bjorn. The second best gift I received was a Baby Bjorn with Lumbar Support for my second child. My husband also carried all 3 of our kids in the BB. I could even nurse in it! I carried all 3 of my babies daily in the Baby Bjorn until 9-10 months when they reached 20 + lbs and I began have back pain. Then, I switched to the Angel Pack that can be worn as a front or back pack. Back pack was a wonderful option for my older babies because they were still close, but their head wasn't right up in my face (I'm on the smaller size at barely 5 ft 4in). Babies that are worn by Mom or Dad seem to be so much happier--I can totally understand why. Congrats on your pregnancy and best wishes finding a comfortable, functional carrier. Midwife Mom of 3

I thought my moby wrap was great when DD was little. It was stretchy cotton and wrapped all around you so not good in hot weather but otherwise terrific. It seemed totally complicated at first but really wasn't at all. I also had a couple pouch slings and a ring sling that worked well when she was little. I didn't like those at all once she got heavier because I needed something symmetrical. If you are using a sling/carrier correctly suffocation isn't a risk. Eventually I got a Babyhawk mei tai which I absolutely LOVED and used it a few months ago for back carrying my 40+ pound tall 4 year old. It totally rocks! I also have a Beco butterfly carrier that I wish I'd had when she was a newborn because it has this part that buttons in for newborns and once they outgrow that you take that part out and can use it forever. thebabywearer.com is a great site for all the info you could ever want and more!! Many of my friends love their ergos. All these slings/carriers may seem expensive but really you can use them a long time and then can resell them and boy do they make life easier!

I like the moby wrap and those like them... but they take a lot of practice.

You also have to keep in mind YOUR body structure, frame and weight. Not all will work with full figured or plus sized women... tho most will work with the very thin.

I had a baby sling that I would have loved, but my son is HUGE; I wore it once with him then gave it to a friend for her CHIHUAHUA, LOL. My son never liked the front carriers (now that he's older he loooooves the baby back pack!)... But when he was smaller, my brother had brought me this gorgeous, handmade scarf from Morocco. I used to wrap the baby around me in it. I bought another scarf from Target (to keep one in the car), and even at 18 months and 30 lbs, I still wear him on my hip with the scarf. WAY cheaper than baby carriers, and more versatile. It took a little practice to tie him on there comfortably, but now it's a huge lifesaver! I've been doing this since he was about 4 months old :)

Hi. We have 3 different ones that were useful at different times. Loved the sleepywrap when my lo was a newborn. Very easy to use. Then we have used the Ergo carrier. Once she was 6 mths old we also got Kokopax an aluminum frame carrier which little miss loves. We got all of them from Happy baby company which is near Robinson mall. The owners there Adam and Lilli are awesome and give the best advice.

I purchased the Mobi sling I think it was called for about $60 or $70 (the long piece of fabric that can be worn a handful of ways) and I HATED it. I could never seem to get it tied so that it was comfortable for me and it always seemed to be squeezing my little one too much for my liking. I have heard ppl say that they loved theirs though so maybe before purchasing one because they are really expensive try one out

This is where I got my sling (no ring). I love it! I used it with my third child for 3 years (fun times...) and now I'm using it with my fourth. I love having both hands free, and during hot times (105 in Tulsa today), I maneuver him around so he doesn't get too hot. I never let the sling cover his head, and check on him often with no problems. Good luck!

Moby wrap when they are a newborn and an Ergo from about 4 months on.

I used a baby bjorn with both kids and it was just ok. if you have a large baby like my second it won't work long term. I was going to try the ergo baby carrier but never did. if I had another baby I would get the ergo.
