Has anyone tried Bug Bam Wristbands for children? My children's school playground has a huge mosquito/chigger problem. I am hoping these wristbands will help and i'm happy to know they are non-toxic/all natural. Please let me know if you've tried these or if you have found something better (non-toxic please).
Thanks in advance.

I've never tried them, but had a sales representative from Bass Pro Shop tell me they didn't work. This summer we started using the Off Clip Ons. They work really well! My boys even came home from Boy Scout Camp bite free.

For non toxic I found citronella oil works really well. I got a small bottle of it for less than $3 and I put 10 drops of it in a small 2 oz spritzer bottle and dilute it with water. It smells good, is safe, and really does keep the mosquitoes away. They used to bite my daughters and give them huge welts but now they don't get bitten at all. I can't say if it works for chiggers though, or if their school will let them bring a spray bottle. I think it can also be mixed in with non- scented lotion if that makes it easier.

My niece is allergic to mosquito bites and tried using this and while it did reduce the number of bites it did not prevent them all. The company I represent is a wellness company and all of their products are non-toxic and naturally based, and their mosquito spray WORKS great!! As soon as I put it on my niece she stopped getting bites, the other great thing is it does not smell like bug spray! It smells good!! Let me know if you would like more information about it!!

I amnot familar with this product however I know Skin So Soft from Avon works wonders in repelling bugs and it feels good to the skin, not sticky like some products. I am an Avon represenative if you are interestd in purchasing the Skin So Soft oil.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like to order some (or any other Avon products)

We use the mosquito coil bracelets. My daughter recently went to a very wooded Girl Scout Camp and came home bite free! Instead of putting them on her wrist she put it on her ankle. We use them when we are working out in the yard and they keep the mosquitos away. We also put them on our ankles instead of the wrist. The onyl place I have been able to find the coils has been Walgreens. They are stretchy and you can't even tell it is there.

Good Luck!!

Funny how many people here sound like they work for Bug Bam's competitors. 1) M., I've been using Bug Bams on my kids for years and they DO work! In fact, if you look at the BUG BAM website, you will see the scientific evidence clearly presented. 2) Julie P., Bug BAND is a completely different product found at Bass Pro Shops, and the rep was right, that product DOES NOT work. We tried Bug BAND from Bass Pro years ago and switched to Bug BAM once we found out that they were the real deal (and cheaper!). 3) Jami, Avon cannot provide any evidence that Skin So Soft does anything more than smell good and 4) Rebecca, why ask people to create science labs in their home when a product (Bug Bam) already exists to answer this problem?
Just my two cents worth. :)

M. - I have used Tough and Tender wipes from an on line company called Melaleuca. You can add a couple of drops from another product called sol u mel or just the melaleuca oil. Then put a couple of tough and tender wipes in a zip lock baggie and send them to school! Have your child wipe down his/her arms, legs, neck, etc with this all natural wipe and I have personally seen the bugs stay away from my children! Good luck! If you would like assistance with Melaleuca let me know!
