Britax Regent or the 1St Years True Fit?
I'm looking at both the Britax regent and the 1st years true fit. The True fit says that it has the highest rating by the NHTS but I know that Britax has a great reputaion. My DD is 3 and is 37 lbs, and is about 42 inches tall. Any suggestions on which one to get? I'm going to pick one of them up on Saturday.

BRITAX! I won't put my son in anything other than a Britax.
I've been told by police and firefighters that, that is the only thing that they put their children in. That's enough for me.

I just got the Graco Nautilus for my nearly 3 year old and am, so far, really happy with it. Its nearly half the price of the Frontier, and seems to have comperable reviews. Check the website www.car-seat.org.
Good luck!

the Regent has been discontinued because they are pushing the Frontier 85 now, so any one you buy will have an older date of manufacture and since car seats expire 6yrs from date of manufacture, you want a newer seat! The Frontier 85 is a GREAT seat, harness to 85lbs and booster to 120. It will last your daughter until she no longer needs a seat.
Another option is the Graco Nautilus, harness to 65lbs and booster to 100lbs. Its $150 and a great seat on a budget and will last her until she no longer needs a seat.
I think the TrueFit is a GREAT seat, we own one for our 3yr old (37" tall and 28lbs) but with your daughters age and size I think a forward facing only seat would be best for her since she can't rear face in the TrueFit, might as well buy a seat that can grow with her from here on out. THe Frontier or the Nautilus are both great options.
We have a Regent and LOVE IT. Our oldest sat in it until he was almost 8 and chose to move to a booster. My 5.5yr old is now in it, and its a big comfy seat. But again its been discontinued so any that you buy now will be older (ours is from 2007 when we bought it), and never buy a used seat!

You should look to see which one will fit your daughter best. Does one have a higher weight than the other? I have 2 Britax seats for 2 toddlers and I do really like them. I have a decathlon and a marathon - I like the marathon better. Much easier to snap and adjust the straps and was the less glitzy of the britax for the higher weight limit. The decathlon I have is 2 1/2 years old and had lots of padding and stuff but is hard to buckle and it's really important to buckle any seat correctly. I don't have any eperience with the Truefit, but you can look on the nhtsa website and see their rating and compare the seats.
