Borax and Washing Soda?

I am going to start making my own laundry detergent. Does anyone know where I can find borax and arm and hammer washing soda (not baking soda)? These are two ingredients that I need.

What can I do next?

Borax is found by the stain pretreaters in the Laundry soap aisle. The brand most commonly found is 20 Mule Team.

The washing soda should be there too, if you can't find it places like Hy-Vee will order it for you. You can buy in on Amazon.com or Drugstore.com

I don't know where you live but in Missouri you can get them both at Wal-mart.

You can find both at either Wal-Mart or your local grocery store. I get mine at Price Chopper. They will always be in the laundry supply aisle. 20 Mule Team Borax is a green box; Arm & Hammer washing soda is a yellow box. Both these items are great for mixing up a variety of homemade cleaning solutions.

I can't remember where I got them, but they were both just in the laundry aisle. I think it was at Hyvee. I use them both in laundry and other cleaning.

I'm not sure I can help, but I'm right there with you and will be interested in you responses. Someone actually told me once you can find both at Walmat, but in all honesty I keep forgetting to look when I'm there.

No, but I am interested in the recipe!

should be able to get borax at Walmart in the laundry soap section. I haven't bought it in a long time so not sure they have it anymore. Not sure about the Arm & Hammer item you are looking for. I use the Arm & Hammer detergent which is one of the cheaper priced brands and it does a great job and have used it for years. It does a better job than Tide.

borax is usually in the laundry isle at walmart- not sure on the other, but i am assuming the same place- hopes this helps :)
