Blue Ocean

We are thinking about a vacation, for the first time in a long time, and I'd love to go see some BLUE ocean. But...don't want to break the bank or for that to be our only destination (my husband isn't as big of an ocean lover as I am). Any good ocean within driving distance of the Dallas area? Got any ideas? Or we've thought about a Grand Canyon vacation too- any tips or things I need to know? We'll probably be on a $2,000 or less budget for 3 of us. And we can go anytime between now and this fall- doesn't really matter to us.

Hi M. M!

It sounds like World Ventures might be a perfect option for you - it offers really nice inexpensive vacation options and kids go free (I think). Call Yvette Ulloa at ###-###-#### . Her website it www.vipdreamtrips.com I'll send her your note so that she'll have a bit of background when you talk to her.

Have fun planning something fun!

Check out the Carribean - All Inclusive (w/Air) is generally about $800/person for a full week and your kid stays/eats for free - www.applevacations.com is what I use - we always go to the Riveria Maya - the water is so gorgeous - the food is good - and there are so many activities at the majority of resorts that your little one should have a blast too - we've got about 5 times now and ALWAYS have a blast - it's the best value for your money because the price includes your air, transport, hotel, food and drinks. You just can't beat that!

There are no blue oceans within a days drive of Dallas. The closest "nice" beaches are in Florida. Otherwise I'd recommend Mexico or anywhere in the caribbean. There are several companies I have used and have gotten really great deals and would easy come in under your $2000 budget. Apple vacations, MLT worry free vacations, priceline, or travelocity. Best of luck to you!

My family and I just got back from St Thomas (US Virgin Islands) We go there every year. The water is by far the bluest water you will ever find. Magen's Bay is rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Incredible snorkeling and swimming. They have lots of family and kids activities at the pool area everyday.

We own through the Marriott and I know they are running a $99 dollar or $199 dollar special to visit their rental properties. It is right on the water and has fabulous views.
I think the offer is for four nights stay.

The site is:

If you'd like to see some photos of the blue water, email me.
