Birthday Party Issue

We scheduled a bowling party for my soon to be 9 year old daughter. I called the place today to see if the banquet(party) room has a fridge or if there is anywhere to store our cake seeing as we're allowed to bring in our own cake - no cake is not provided by the alley. Lunch and drinks are part of it. Now I have a dilemma how what's the best way I can go about storing the cake? We will be bowling for 2 hours prior to using the banquet room for lunch and cake. This is the first party I've ever thrown at a venue. Thanks for any advice.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow, talk about me having mommy brain this morning. Thank you for the input. No it's not an ice cream cake and the funny part is although I haven't thrown a party at a venue I have for numerous years baked a specialty cake and just had it set out. Now I'm off to figure out how to make a cake pops cake. :D

I am a cake decorator. Unless it is really hot or extremely humid, your cake should be fine. If it's really hot or humid, it may get a bit weepy, but it won't go bad. If it's a cake covered in fondant, it is recommended NOT to refrigerate those. If it's butter cream, butter cream can sit out unrefrigerated for up to three days. If it's simply a matter of no place to put the cake while you bowl, stick it in a cooler, so it doesn't get bumped or knocked over (I wouldn't recommend leaving it in the car).

Is this an ice cream cake? I ask because that is the only cake I can think of that actually needs refrigeration. If it is an ice cream cake you can have a friend run it up, find the biggest cooler on earth and put in dry ice, family maybe?

Are you not able to put the cake in the room while you bowl? The cake should be just fine in there until you are ready to eat it - if you're able to put it in there. Or - how close will you be to your house? Could someone bring it closer to when you get to that part of the party?

Unless it's an ice cream cake, can't you leave it out? We always buy our dd's birthday cake in the morning and leave it on the counter until her party around lunch time. We've never had a problem.

I usually make my cake a week ahead and freeze it. I take it out a couple of hours before serving and let it thaw.

Use buttercream instead of whipped cream, and it doesn't have to be refridgerated.
