I am in need of a GOOD birthday gift for my best friend’s son who will be 5. He is very much into horses and when I say vary, I mean very. My friend has even gone to the extreme of buying him my little pony horses and any kind of horse you can think of for boys or girls. However I want to be the "one" to get him "the" birthday gift that he will like the most, lol. If you have any suggestions please let me know. The party is this weekend.

I am mom to two horse lovin girls myself, so I totally understand the search!! I have ordered some GREAT things from hearthsong.com. We have the backpack set, for example, and the backpack is great for carrying horses!! But, there are lots of cute things, just put the word horse into their search and you will have lots to choose from. Good luck ~A.~
Buy him a pony! Just kidding! I was going to suggest Melissa and Doug also. I have ordered them from Amazon.com, but I think Toys R Us carries some of there stuff as well. They have some stables, but they can be a little pricey. They also have some really pretty puzzles. Another thought would be sheets and pillowcases in a horse motif. But I love the idea of the gift certificate for a stable, too.
Gift cert to a stable or lone star park. Rent a mini horse for the party.
What about a horse stable for all his horses? Melissa & Doug has some really cute ones. Maybe a horse trailer and truck too. Does he have a cowboy outfit? He may like that.
Most places have a ranch where you can pay to ride horses for and hour or so.HTey will have horses for non exerienced riders and children.You should look and see if there is any where like that and you can buy him some riding lesson or just and hour to ride a lot of times they can evvven brush the horses.What better than getting to see the real thing and I bet it will be the best gift!Just google your city and see if you can find anywherre like that or try the phone book.
What about a something embroidered with a horse design and perhaps his name?

Call Frisco Horse Park, they do horse and pony rides. You could get him a gift certificate for that.
Maybe you could find a local stables that do trail rides and get him a certificate to go do a ride with his mom. That would probably be the best thing for him if he loves horses that much.
