For two years, Lindsey (owner) has made awesome cakes for my boys... 60 cupcake jungle animals (each edible animal/tree), first birthday airplane cake and small one. This year - 3-D barn with farm animals and soon another cake for my son.

Ashley of Cakes by Ashley did my son's 1st birthday cake and it looked amazing and tasted fabulous! His theme was racecar ducks, and she made the cupcake cake be a racetrack with the little ducks zooming around (see http://new.photos.yahoo.com/cakesbyashley/album/576460762.... nick jr. com has this amazing Blue's Clues cake made from pound cake. It is so easy and look's incredible! The pound cake is sturdy and holds shape!!

Ashely (Cakes by Ashley) does amazingily beautiful cakes. She made my daughter's cake for her 1st birthday. I will definitely use her again!! She is very nice too.
Market Street has awesome cakes and cupcakes too. You might want to try Celebrity Cafe and Bakery. They have awesome cookies and special desserts.

There are two bakeries in Richardson that make good cakes. One is The Cake Lady (think this is correct), the other the Chocolate Angel. Both are located in the same strip center at Nantucket and W. Campbell, southeast side of Nantucket. You have to drive around the buildings to find. Both are extremely busy, so you will need to order much more in advance than places like Sam's, Costco, and other grocers. One grocer that has made good cakes in Plano is Fiesta at Parker and Ave. K. Costco also makes good cakes if you have many to serve. I have ordered cakes from Willie Mays at Park and Custard. Some have turned out good, others not so good. Friends have mentioned Celebrity Bakery at Parker and Preston, but they have been pricey.

We went to a birthday party recently and the cake was beautiful and great tasting. She said she got it at The Cake Stand in McKinney. I highly recommend it.
