Birth Control Fat Gain

I started on Seasonique about 6 months ago, and I feel like I'm getting huge! But here's the thing, it's not necessarily weight gain because the scale still reads the same. However, I can't hardly fit in my jeans anymore, and I definitely have a poochy belly. Blah. How do I get rid of it?! I'm only about 98 pounds (5 ft tall) to start with, so I don't necessarily want to loose weight, just the bulge.

What can I do next?

Look into Mummy Tummy exercises. They focus on the innermost muscle that wraps around like a corset. Typical exercises, like crunches work the outer muscles and don't do much to help flatten the stomach. They can even make a diastasis worse (seperation of the outer muscles, which typically occurs with pregnancy). A diastasis can cause back problems and abdominal support weakness.
Make sure you drink enough water also.
As far as hormonal causes, I am clueless. Maybe call your doc and ask questions.

I agree with the other post. I had the same thing happen to me and I had eat healthy, and exercise more.

I found the greatest way to get rid of a poochy belly is Shaklee's "Cinch". It is an all natural organic chemical free product that actually helps you lose inches. You will be amazed at the results. Check out me website for more information!

They have a 30 day money back guarantee, so nothing to lose except those inches!!!

Take care!

Lots of crunches and walking will help trim you up.

Have you thought about natural family planning? It's just as reliable as hormonal birth control, but with no health- or weight-gain side effects.

I had the same problem with Orthocept when I was on it. I stayed at the same weight +/- a few pounds but I developed noticeable fat deposits on my hips and belly. I had to exercise a little more (especially cardio) to keep it under control and I cut way back on saturated fat intake-- no fast food. Best of luck to you! :)
