I have a Honda Pilot that has 100,000 miles on it and not one problem, ever. I don't know about the car seats, but it sits six people in the back -- more than my van did. You should go check one out. Take your car seats with you and see if they fit.

We have a Ford Freestyle which is now called a Ford Taurus X I think. Looks like a station wagon only it has all-wheel drive. Absolutely love it! Can fit four to five depending upon if you get buckets or a bench for the middle row. It really is a great car.

My friend had this problem when she had her 3rd child recently. She realized that instead of buying a new car it would be less expensive to buy new thinner car seats. I guess they make car seats that may be a bit more expensive (but cheaper than a car!) that can fit three in a row in many cars. I just thought you might want to consider this.
