Where is the best place to stay near Legoland? Something within walking distance? We are going with family so we would like a suite or adjoining rooms. What do you suggest if you've been?

What can I do next?

The place Meredith M. from Redondo Beach was talking about is a Timeshare...but you can get a room there. It is a Hilton Timeshare---we are staying there in August. I would recommend that.

The West is super nice and right down the street from Legoland. They have a shuttle that will take you to the park.
Have fun!

The Carlsbad INN in downtown Carlsbad right by the beach is great. I have not been home in a few years, but I seem to remember Legoland is a bit out of the way, but I am sure they built up more hotels nearby. Personally I would be nearer the beach and shuttle or drive to legoland.

It's not next door, but the best deal around! Great hotel - Dana Inn.

Back in the parking lot the Sheraton is the closest for walking, best place I hear but I never stay next to the park.

We live in San Diego and have been to LL many many times. I would definitely recommend the Grand Pacific Palisades.

There is a vaction suites right arcoss the street. We hadfriends that stayed there but they might be time shares. They had 2 bed apt with full kitchen. We met them there and parked at the hotel and waked across the street to legoland.

We live in Carlsbad and very close to LL. If you're looking for walking distance, the best choices are the Sheraton (they have private access to LL from their parking lot) or Grand Pacific Palisades (across the street from LL with Karl Strauss Restaurant on site). If I had to choose...Sheraton. There are not any other hotels walking distance other than these two. There are other cheaper places to stay (some close to the beach and within about 2-3 mi)...you just have to decide what's most important! We have passes to LL and go all the time. Let me know if we can help you out!

We were just at Legoland last month and I didn't see any motels/hotels in walking distance. However, there are a lot of places within quick driving distance. We stayed at the Ramada, which had suites, but wouldn't really recommend it. Got a good price there, but you get what you pay for.

Legoland isn't as overwhelming/exhausting as Disneyland, where you feel like you need to take a break back at the hotel for a while and want the short walking distance.

There is a Sheraton with direct access to the park. Can't get any closer than that!

I had friends in town a couple months ago that stayed at the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort and Hotel on Armada Drive. Legoland access was across the street from the hotel. They seem to like the hotel and when I met them there to walk over to Legoland it looked very nice.

We haven't been there since about 2003, but I don't think there are really any hotels within walking distance? I mean, there were several nearby, and I'm sure they have shuttles, I just kind of remember it being a little "removed."
If there's an Embassy Suites nearby that's ALWAYS a good place for families.
Have fun, we LOVED Legoland!!!

Easiest thing we did was go on VBRO and rent a house about 1 mile from these hotels for half the price - and then we drove to Legoland and paid the $10 parking fee (we could have taken a cab too if you don't have a car). It was awesome to come "home" to a place with a living room and 3 bedrooms (we were 6 people) and kitchen - we had breakfast in the "house" and then enjoyed Carlsbad at night and went to Lego twice in 5 days. There's no walking distance places other thant he 2 hotels tied to the Legoland property - but they book up fast and are really pricey.
