hello mommies!

i have a 10 month and i only use cloth diapers . we use (and love) fuzzi bunz. the problem is, she's a heavy wetter and she sleeps 12 hours solid at night (this second part is NOT a problem! lol). the fuzzis just won't hold! we've stuffed them different ways, 2 or 3 inserts, hemp, terrycloth etc. no luck. we've stuffed her so much her butt is huge and she's uncomfortable. this morning she woke up soaked :-( we could use disposables at night, but i'd hate to. i'm wondering what other cd'ing mamas use?

What can I do next?

You could also try wool covers. I'm def no expert on wool but my understanding is that it's great for heavy wetters.

I like the Thirsties Fab Fitted with a couple of hemp liners. You can get the hemp liners in different sizes. I just got her some of the largest ones for overnight.

I know you don't want to hear this, but we used 1 Huggies diaper each night. My son also slept 11-12 hours each night, and I was totally opposed to waking him for anything. I figured that compared to the dozens of disposables other families put in the landfill each week, my 7/week weren't the end of the world.

My 19 month old is a pretty heavy overnight wetter. We got some big premium size microfiber auto towels from sam's club and stuff 3 of those in his overnight diapers (BG 3.0 diapers, so kind of standard one-size pockets). Just recently, it's been working less well and even though he's only 25lbs, it seemed like it was a stretch to get the poofy diapers on him, so we got some Large FuzziBunz pockets that we fill with the same stuffing. Since it's a bigger diaper, it holds all the stuffing better. We can actually fit more stuffing in there, and if he starts outwetting this, I can add some more.

I like BumGenius. We did 2 normal and 1 double for my son, MAJOR heavy wetter. My daughter is 5 months and also a heavy wetter. I use the Flip for her with an insert and a hemp.

Although I am not familiar with the cloth diapers on the market now, do you double diaper at night? and have you ever put a super sanitary napkin inside the night time diaper. I remember doing that years ago for the same problem....

I used pockets with my super soaker and ended up with terri on top, hemp in the middle, and terri on bottom. Huge diaper, but it worked - most of the time. I've heard of wool covers too, but never ventured into them. I was too lazy to handwash them especially if they got poop on them.

My son was a HUGE bed time wetter! What we had to do is use the Thirsties Hemp prefold, and a hemp inserts, WITH a thirsties doubler. I use a either a Thirsties or Blueberry wrap. I also use the Fuzzibunz and it works really well. I really suggest the Thristies hemp prefold. They hold TONS!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, a fellow Ohioan! lol We've been doing great with GroVia but I also have BumGenius One Size pockets that are great overnight. I have also heard wool covers work great and have two but haven't yet had a need to try. you could pick up one of whatever you want to try used at diaperswappers.com.
