Hi everyone. Has anyone worn those bella bands tummy tube tops that are supposed to help stretch the life of your pre-pregnancy jeans? I have looked at some on ebay and in department stores, but didn't know if they actually fit well or looked good.

Something to consider - the Motherhood version is one size fits all ... but I don't really think that's the case. I believe it's sized for Small and Medium sized women. I am size Large/X-Large and found the Motherhood version quite uncomfortable. Perhaps the Bella Band would be better because it comes in different sizes. I gave my Motherhood band to another pregnant woman who is small and she absolutely loved it.

Hi Lyn!

I asked the same question back in March and here are the three responses I got (I personally ended up not getting one. I bought the tank tops at Motherhood, they were inexpensive and covered that lower area perfectly fine and I used a rubber band to hold my pants together until that didn't work anymore and I had to switch to maternity pants)...

I used one and it was great. It was not too tight or uncomfortable for me, and it was the only thing that would keep my pants up!

Hi! My best friend that is about to give birth to her 2nd child says that the bella band is a necessity. Shes says they are wonderful and worth the investment! I plan on buying one during my pregnancy.

i love mine! got it in black at pickles and ice cream...

Good luck and congratulations on the new prgnancy!

I got the motherhood maternity one as well, and I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy dress pants and jeans at 7 1/2 months! I had a hard time finding maternity pants that fit right with my last baby, so I have been so excited to be able to wear my normal pants with this one!

yes! I ordered a white and a black one and wore them the WHOLE pregnancy WITH EVERTHING. I was able to wear my favorite jeans much longer, and even in maternity clothes, they just made my clothes look better. I still wore them after I had the baby for about 2 months during that embaressing tummy time.

It's like spanx for pregnant women. :) Whcih, actualy they have those too, but those wouldnt work for extending your jeans wearage!! :) GEt them! I wish I had them with my first 3 kids!

Yes! I tried them with my last pregnancy and they were great! They really help not only with your pants but also shirts. Blouses that come right to you waist & rise up when you move around- It won't matter because the band is there- so no skin shows!

I got the inexpensive motherhood version and I thought it really did a good job. I am wearing more maternity type stuff now, but I still use it occasionally when I wear a shirt that is a bit short. I dont want my streth marked tummy hanging out :)

I used those and they were great! I saved $$ not having to buy a ton of maternity pants. They are'nt noticable when you have a maternity top or t-shirt covering it...very comfy :)

Hi Lyn, I wore one. It bunched up a lot on me, and also put more pressure on the bladder area, which is not great when you are pregnant. But it did save me a little money in those weeks where your jeans are just a little too tight. I would probably wear it again but just for those first weeks. I got mine at Babystyle in North Park. Hope that helps, J.

I loved mine and ended up using it for all sorts of things, more than just what they suggested! It is great for when early maternity shirts get too short into your final months, for wearing your regular (pre-maternity) jeans unbuttoned before fitting into maternity jeans at the beginning and then when that no-longer worked for using maternity jeans early and when they were yet too big, also for post-pregnancy when no clothes seem to fit right, and for a seem-less look for your belly when shirts lay funny over maternity pants, etc.

I had only the black one and that was all I needed, but a white one wouldn't have been bad either. For me, it was great and well worth the minimal price-they were the most used piece of my maternity wear!!!!

Absolutely loved mine! I bought a black and a white one and wore one almost every day from 15 weeks until I gave birth two weeks past my due date.

I bought a black and nude one when I was preg. 2 years ago. I only got to use them for a little while. I don't think they were worth the money. Mine were too tight form the beggining. Make sure you get to try it on before you buy. They have diff. sizes. Hope this helps.

I bought the black Motherhood Maternity version and loved it. I used it to extend the life of my pre-pregnancy pants but also at the end of pregnancy when nothing fits just right, it made everything more comfortable. I would wear my pants below my belly and where the band to cover my belly. It was very comfortable.

I didn't want to spend the money on them, so I just used knit tube tops that I already owned and pulled them down around my lower waist hip area, and they did the trick throughout the pregnancy. if you don't have any, you can always look for knit tube tops for less than the bella band, and just buy med or large (I used small because that was what I had and they still worked just fine, but large would work better for your pregnancy). Congrats and blessings, Stephanie

Hi Lyn -

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I didn't know about the Bella bands with my first son but had one with my second... I LOVED THEM! I had one in each color!! I even let my friend use them during her pregnancy and she had her son a month ago and still wears them. They just smooth everything out and even allow you to wear Non-Maternity clothing and leave them unzipped during the awkward times. I think you can also get them at Mimi’s.

Good luck!
E.

Hi Lyn,

Congratulations! About the Bella Bands...I bought 3 of them and didn't like them. I wonder if they work better depending on the type of fabric you wear. I wore business suits every day and the bands always rolled up. I had better luck when I was wearing jeans or khakis. Since I wore business suits more, the Bella Bands were not convenient for me. I ended up doing the rubber band trick.
