Bella Bands for Maternity Clothing

Hi everyone. Has anyone worn those bella bands tummy tube tops that are supposed to help stretch the life of your pre-pregnancy jeans? I have looked at some on ebay and in department stores, but didn't know if they actually fit well or looked good.

Something to consider - the Motherhood version is one size fits all ... but I don't really think that's the case. I believe it's sized for Small and Medium sized women. I am size Large/X-Large and found the Motherhood version quite uncomfortable. Perhaps the Bella Band would be better because it comes in different sizes. I gave my Motherhood band to another pregnant woman who is small and she absolutely loved it.

Hi Lyn,

Congratulations! About the Bella Bands...I bought 3 of them and didn't like them. I wonder if they work better depending on the type of fabric you wear. I wore business suits every day and the bands always rolled up. I had better luck when I was wearing jeans or khakis. Since I wore business suits more, the Bella Bands were not convenient for me. I ended up doing the rubber band trick.

Hi Lyn -

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I didn't know about the Bella bands with my first son but had one with my second... I LOVED THEM! I had one in each color!! I even let my friend use them during her pregnancy and she had her son a month ago and still wears them. They just smooth everything out and even allow you to wear Non-Maternity clothing and leave them unzipped during the awkward times. I think you can also get them at Mimi’s.

Good luck!

I didn't want to spend the money on them, so I just used knit tube tops that I already owned and pulled them down around my lower waist hip area, and they did the trick throughout the pregnancy. if you don't have any, you can always look for knit tube tops for less than the bella band, and just buy med or large (I used small because that was what I had and they still worked just fine, but large would work better for your pregnancy). Congrats and blessings, Stephanie

I bought the black Motherhood Maternity version and loved it. I used it to extend the life of my pre-pregnancy pants but also at the end of pregnancy when nothing fits just right, it made everything more comfortable. I would wear my pants below my belly and where the band to cover my belly. It was very comfortable.

I bought a black and nude one when I was preg. 2 years ago. I only got to use them for a little while. I don't think they were worth the money. Mine were too tight form the beggining. Make sure you get to try it on before you buy. They have diff. sizes. Hope this helps.

Absolutely loved mine! I bought a black and a white one and wore one almost every day from 15 weeks until I gave birth two weeks past my due date.

I loved mine and ended up using it for all sorts of things, more than just what they suggested! It is great for when early maternity shirts get too short into your final months, for wearing your regular (pre-maternity) jeans unbuttoned before fitting into maternity jeans at the beginning and then when that no-longer worked for using maternity jeans early and when they were yet too big, also for post-pregnancy when no clothes seem to fit right, and for a seem-less look for your belly when shirts lay funny over maternity pants, etc.

I had only the black one and that was all I needed, but a white one wouldn't have been bad either. For me, it was great and well worth the minimal price-they were the most used piece of my maternity wear!!!!
