We didn't bank our first child's cord blood, but now that they are discovering all the new things that can be cured with cord blood we are considering doing it with our second baby.
Has anyone out there done it? Can you tell me how you decided what company to go with. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with making this decision. I'd love to hear how others made the decision.

Thanks!
B.

Instead of banking the cord blood for personal use, we decided to donate it. It's a nice alternative to throwing it away or paying to store it on your own. Your doctor probably has info on how to do it. I just asked at an appointment and they gave me all the info.

we didnt do it with our first either, it was so new at the time, but we did it with our next 2. i researched and researched, and in the end went with viacord because that was who my doc used for his kids. that was good enough for me. he said that he went with them mostly because they are a research and development facility as well as a storage facility, so they are more secure, have more financial strength, etc, and they have an interest in the science of it...

Hi B., we banked our first child's cord blood and will do the same for our next in July. We use viacord and have had no problems. We thought it was a good idea just in case. Hopefully none of us will never need but if I do not bank it knowing that this technology is available, I would be so mad at myself. They are researching new uses for the cord blood and more and more diseases are able to be alleviated with its use every year. good luck. Hope this helps.

Hi B. ! I work for A. Registry, a cord blood bank. Please look out for our upcoming Cord Advantage product launch that saves many more stem cells as compared to cord blood banking alone. Also, we have better pricing than most of our competitors. www.cordadvantage.com
