Back, Neck, Shoulder Pain

Hi Mommas!

I feel like I'm falling apart! Yesterday I started having a dull, annoying pain in my back, close to my shoulder blade. It goes from half way down my back up through my neck. I thought I slept funny or something. Well when I woke up this morning (I know this sounds weird) the first joint in both of my thumbs hurt. Anyone ever have anything strange like this happen to them? I don't really want to go to a doctor just to receive muscle relaxers and pain pills. Any suggestions for a massage therapist or an extremely gentle chiropractor? I prefer staying in the Keller/north Fort Worth area.

Thanks in advance ladies!

What can I do next?

Hi M.,
I also highly recommend Dr. Cindy at Lifetime Family Wellness. I trusted her throughout my pregnancy and now also with my husband, myself and our 5 month old cutie pie. She and her husband both know what they are doing and are super friendly. They will take time with you and answer any questions you have. You will feel like more than a million bucks!

I use a chiropractor in Southlake. I live in Keller and it takes me only about 10 minutes to get there. His name is Dr. Wayne Hebert of Southlake Chiropractic. The number is ###-###-####. Dr. Devos is also there. They are both great. If you go you can use me as a referral. They are having a contest for a $300 Visa gift card right now to new patients. Who can't use $300?

M.,
I'd highly recommend Cindy or Jim Bob Haggerton at http://www.family-wellness.com/ They are in Hurst, just east of Pipeline, off Harwood. Very gentle. They practice Gonstead Chiropractic- not the usual snap, crackle, pop chiropractic. They're great w/ kids, too. Check them out. I need to get in there tomorrow myself!

M.,
What you are experiencing is very common. The reason why it is bothering all of these areas, from what I usually see in my practice, is that the nerves coming from your neck control the function in your shoulder, arm, hand and fingers. So the problem most likely started in your neck and moved down. I would recommend a chiropractic evaluation before a massage. Massages are excellent, but if your muscles are spasms to protect your spine or other joints, a massage may cause more tenderness. If you need someone in your area feel free to contact me offlist. My practice is in Hurst (www.family-wellness.com), and I would be happy to evaluate you or I could recommend someone else. Hope you feel better soon!

Good Morning M.,

Give Dr. Ruth at Alliance Spine Institute a call. His number is ###-###-####. He is located in Watauga off of Watauga Road and 377, right near where you are asking. He is a gentle chiropractor and takes almost all insurance plans. Give it a try!

Hi M.. I was in a car accident in January and I'm still recovering. I live in NFW and I go to Bentz Physical Therapy and they are great. You can look them up on the web and see if one is more convenient than the one I go to which is in Saginaw/FW on Blue Mound Rd north of 820. It's down the street from Saginaw High. I've only been there a few times for my shoulder pain, but I'm noticing a difference and they are very gentle and attentive to you personally. My Ortho thought I had a pinched nerve so I had to have a Myelogram (if they recommend that BE WARNED!! OUCH) and when that didn't turn up anything, he recommended Bentz. I did go to a chiropractor initially and I think they did more harm than good. Especially with my neck. Anyway, let me know if you have any questions. Sorry to hear you're in pain, hope you get better soon. Maybe a massuese would work as well, but I don't know anyone.

Hi M. - I had a serious ski accident a few years back, and Holly from Sedona Massage Company has always made me feel better whenever I have aches or pains from my injuries. I'm not one that likes to take medicine, but I will take Holly. She is located on Davis, just south of 1709. Her phone number is ###-###-####. Besides being very good at what she does, she is also very reasonable! Hope you are feeling better soon.
