Hopefully will be starting a babysitting job. Have an interview for it Monday. There would be 4 boys all together a 1 year old a 2 year old an 8 year old (whom is only an hour after school) and my son 17 months. Any tips on a somewhat smooth day with 3 toddlers?

What can I do next?

Plan things in 1hr increments. Say, playtime and breakfast between 8am-9am. Diaper changes and getting dressed, hair, etc. from 9am-10am. (I always let the parents bring them in jammies b/c it's easier for they).
Now it's time for cleanup while they do coloring or a toddler craft or a short cartoon. Outside time after the craft, then naptime, etc. Plan for an easy way to keep them occupied while you do cleanups about 3 times a day. You'll find that they will pull EVERYTHING out and it's dangerous for them to be tripping over things. Also plan for diaper changes throughout the day. It's easiest to do them all at once, rather than scattered.

The 3 toddlers will do most things together, and they will likely play great. Come up with a routine that works for you all, change/update as needed. A schedule will make your day run smoother. Plan something fun, preferable outdoors when the older one comes home, based on his perferences.I have 3 toddlers most days and they play great together, just don't try to keep everything neat all day long, have 2 or 3 clean up times for toys, unless it is really messy.

Keep a schedule and keep it consistant. However I think it will be easier than you think because usually they all kind of play together. our daycare does breakfast, then for 45- 1 hour they sing songs and dance. they do theme weeks every week based on a color and number(like seseame street) Then its lunch/Nap. after nap They get to watch a little TV while they all wake up, then its sharing playtime til 3 when they get their snack. After that, they sit them at a table where they color and draw. If they are good and quiet during that time, they get a dixie cup of water and 2 m&m's. usually after then its about 4 and I the p's are coming to pick them up so its run around and play time.

Make sure each one of them gets speical attention at some point. Make each one feel important. Reading to them is wonderful. Ask the 8 yr. old for ideas on solving things with you or what they think will help. You will need him. Make sure you make him feel that way.
Good Luck! and be patient,... and Safety is #1 when it comes to anything.
