I am looking for some fun things to do with my VERY active 13 month old. I am looking for something where he can play and be very active. I'd love to find an open gym somewhere, or an active class to be a part of. I am willing to drive to somewhere near Lewisville, Flower Mound, Coppell, and Carrollton. (Or, somewhere reasonably close to those places.) Thanks!!!

Check out Winkins in Flower Mound. They have parent-child classes as well as open gym areas. They are wonderful!

I second the Gymboree next to Babies R Us in Lewisville. We have been going there since my daughter was 18 months. She is now 3. The staff is great!

I've just started taking my 18 month old to Gymboree by Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville. She loves it! They have some open play times during the week as well as classes throughout the week. In Flower Mound, there is WinKids off 2499. We haven't tried it but have heard good things about their classes as well.

Win Kids and Gymboree are both great ideas.

Kindermusik with Heidi is a "movement to music" kind of class.

You can take a free sample class anytime by calling, or she offers a free class on the first Monday of every month at Brilliant Sky in Highland Village.

I would also try the Grapevine CAC and Paradise Pond (also in Grapevine). Both offer play time for $1. You can get details for both at http://familyeguide.com/Indoor-Play-Areas.html.

I would also check out the local pools. For example, Flower Mound CAC offers a Waterbabies class (mommy and me swim lessons).

Finally, I would get involved with a local support group like MOPS or MOMS Club. http://familyeguide.com/Support-Groups.html This is a perfect age to join a playgroup, and getting to know other moms in your area will help you learn all the cool places to take your kids at various stages as they grow.

Good luck!
