Both my babies had this when they were infants too. I wouldn't recommend using any products on it as their skin is so new and sensitive. It will clear up on it's own within a few weeks - in the meantime, just keep it clean and dry and enjoy the new baby!! :)

While the baby is too young to really put any creams on, I made sure that I used a warm wash cloth and cleaned his face every night. When I saw the doctor, she told me that there is no "cause". It wasn't anything that I was eating, or doing, just a normal stage and it usually peaks at about 6-8 weeks. She was right! And after about 7 weeks, he just got better and better. this is just a guess, but if you are nursing try cutting things like dairy and sugar, especially HFCS, and get enough healthy fiber and vitamins. On a baby's skin the advice usually is to clean and leave it. The only product I would maybe try is alphacura's line, just because they seem to be so gentle and work so well. I don't think they would hurt, but they are a bit expensive (but worth it if you are desperate)

All three of my kids had that problem, from what I know, advice of thier doc. There is nothing that can be done, but wash the area, dont pop them. Other then that, they will clear up on thier own.

My first son had it really badly as well- however it just kinda ran it's course until he was about one. My second son (5 months old now) had some to begin with but his dr had me switch his formula because he said that can be a sign of a minor allergy to the formula. Once we switched him over to a soy formula it went away! I wonder now if my first son had the same thing and maybe we could have gotten rid of it before he turned one! ( *just fyi if you're going to try soy formulas- they don't smell the greatest* *sorry*)

It is typical of infants to get acne. Just clean the area, keep it clean and try to prevent sweating. I am a mom of 4 and this has helped with all of my kids when they were babies. Good luck!

My daughter got it way bad. It was like baby acne mixed with a horrible rash, all the way up to her ears and inside her ears. Some of it even got dry and kinda crusty. I wanted it to go away by the time we blessed her so I went to her doctor. Turns out it was more like a rash. And right when she walked in the nurse practitioner said, it looks like she might have a milk allergy. I went off all dairy products and anything with dairy in it. Her skin cleared right up within a few days. NOw she has beautiful baby skin, but I cannot have any dairy since I am nursing her:)
I did some research and it turns out that a milk allergy is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed problems with infants, and the most common allergies are milk, eggs, nuts, and sometimes soy. Also they can outgrow it, and it helps if you avoid it.
The nurse practitioner told me that it looked like my daughter had sensitive skin and to not use Johnson's baby products. She said they smell great but they are not the best for sensitive skin. I switched to an organic brand and i don't use soap every time and never on her face.

Ah, I feel your pain. I had a adorable little boy (now almost 2) but when he turned about 2 weeks old he got horriable baby acne and it just broke my heart. I searched and searched and found that leaving it be is the best thing so thats what I did and it went away and never showed back up. I read that it is way more common in boys then girl, don't know why but it is. Just give him kisses and you'll have your beautiful baby boy back.

I'm pretty sure it eventually just runs its course and goes away, but with two of my three children I have used Baby Aveeno wash and lotion on their face each day and it has gone way almost immediately.
