April is Autism Awareness Month. Have you done anything to mark the occasion or have you heard many people talking about it lately? I think since I am in field I notice it more. I am constantly looking for info for my autism website. The TV show Parenthood has a story line with a child on the Autism Spectrum. They do a great job so far with the storyline.

I think the show Parenthood is doing an awesome job of showing how it is to get your child diagnosed, go through the tough emotions in the beginning, and start getting help! Every episode has had me in tears since my daughter was diagnosed with Asperger's last year. I can really relate to that story line!

Let's see...what have I done for Autism Awareness Month...I've contributed money to Autism Speaks, I blog about autism at www.littlebitquirky.blogspot.com , and I was profiled about my situation at Cafe Mom. The link for that is: http://thestir.cafemom.com/toddler/101444/my_autism_story...

That's it here! Thanks for increasing the awareness!

Hi, SL - Yes, I have been getting more emails, but I have not seen much while out & about. Personally, I try to make people aware of the dangers of household chemicals. Education is key! What field are you in exactly? Feel free to email me directly. I'd be happy to pass along info that I have, hoping it will be helpful to you for your website. Also, happy to chat, compare notes, and see how else I may be able to help. Thanks for making people aware! What is your website? Have a great weekend! N.

This is the first I have heard of Autism Awareness. I learned more about autism when I took a photography class with Joe Buissink. He shared some of his touching photos with us. Afterward, I photographed a party of autistic children and learned a bit more. It was a very touching shoot, however not done in April.

I did not know it was A. A. M. I haven't heard anything. There should be more done to bring awareness. I don't have any experience with it, but see all the parents who do and it breaks my heart. I also LOVE Parenthood and agree with Holly Robinson-Peete they do a fabulous job with incorporating it into the storyline.
