Oh my gosh! I have been doing so good on weight watchers to lose my baby weight, but this week I majorly blew it and its bumming me out! I am SO hungry! I couldnt sleep the other night and I was just laying there starving and got and ate a huge bowl of cereal! So bad. Yesterday when went to a birthday party and I ate eveything in sight! I gained like 2 lbs this week! Am I the only one? I really hope I can get back on track when this pms monster goes away!

What can I do next?

For me... I need red meat. Steak that is still mooing. Spinach (saag paneer, salads, soufflés). Iron heavy foods. And sex. And half baked chocolate chip cookies.

Yes! When I was in high school, my dad noticed it and said that I needed more iron. Don't know how he knew that but when I have more iron in my diet, I'm not as ravenous. I also keep rice crackers around for when I get that way bec they are low cal and crunchy. I always want the crunchy or sweet during that time.

I am! Lol, of course ice cream is always nice, but I really crave red meat when I am on my period!! I don't know if it is because I am loosing iron or what, but I love a good steak at that time of the month. I am also more likely to crave crunchy garlicky things like chips at that time.

Yes, I crave ice cream with hot fudge, and Doritos... What I really need is to be sure I have enough protein throughout the day so that I don't have a blood sugar crash, which makes my hunger worse. I gain water weight that week, too, so I don't weigh myself that week. Because the next week, those few pounds are gone.

Weight Watchers is a good program. However, artificial sweetners are not good for the body and mind. So the questions are: Are you consuming artirficial sweetners--they have been linked to neurological problems and stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin. Do you take b vitamins? A good B complex vitamin helps with mood swings and will help with PMS. I call it the Be Happy vitamin.

Remember what you do the entire month, affects how you are the week before your period.

YES!!!!! And I thought I was the ONLY one! lol....I always run out to the store to get that Edy's double fudge brownie ice cream-I know tisk tisk! lol....Top that off, I'll also bake a tray of homemade brownies too! I always get bloated and feel like "killing" someone lol, so instead I indulge in anything and everything! lol.

Ha.....yes. For spinach and tomato based things, specifically salsa. I never really got the chocolate thing, which I don't care about during pms (but do like and occasionally indulge in on "normal" days). But I'm very thirsty and very hungry----Texmex and one stupid meal I made up myself (which sounds disgusting but the whole family likes) are my "period foods", as my husband calls them.

i eat like a cow, yes!!! i just started and i've eaten everything in sight. normally when i go to McD's, i get a regular cheeseburger and small fry and i'm satisfied, but last night i ate my stuff and then the kids leftovers (about another whole hamburger), ate 3 or 4 banana muffins my mom made, the icing off a piece of cake, frozen dinner for lunch (michaelinas), and a mini bagel for breakfast. i went to bed starving.

today i had a banana, 2 banana muffins (maybe 3?), baby bowl of rigatoni, 2 scoops of ice cream. and i'm forcing myself not to go back into the kitchen.

to top it off i didn't exercise yesterday.

Yes. It's bad. Usually I try to avoid certain foods, but it doesn't go very far :(. If I am craving chocolate, I usual try to get dark chocolate. Drinking more water helps diminish some of the cravings. Also drinking more skim milk, and low fat cheeses helps me.

Chocolate!! I can't get enough chocolate right before I start.

If it makes you feel better, I always gain about 5 lbs of water weight with my period. Just chalk up the 2 lbs. to bloating! :)

Every time I PMS, I crave chocolate, salty food, and fried food. Last night I ate three eggrolls right before bed (the absolute worst time to eat anything fatty and fried). But I felt hungry and moody, so I went ahead and ate them. Every month for a few days before my period I think there must be something seriously wrong with me because I eat so much, but then when my period is over, my appetite goes back to normal. So no, you are not the only one. :-)

Oh yes. Chocolate, BEEF, Doritos. Those are the things I crave when I am PMSing. The chocolate need remains during my period as well. Last month I even jumped on my husband right when he walked in from work and demanded to know WHY I haven't had a chocolate donut yet that week. He loves when I surprise him like that, lol!

Maybe when I was a teen I was a bit moody, but right now I just slightly crave salty things a few days before a period and my face breaks out roughly 24 hrs before I start spotting.
Since I'm well on the way to menopause (and they're getting roughly 40-50 days between cycles) the breaking out is usually the only clue I get that a period is coming.
I'll be happy when it finally quits altogether but that could still be a few years away.
