Anyone Know How to Run a Free Background Check???

It depends on what you want to know. If you want to know that person's arrest history they go to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, there are tons of links there to find out stuff. The arrest history will cost about $30 and is usually pretty informative. I used to work in the background industry and if I were still doing it I would help you out more than I can right now. Hopefully you will find what you need to know.

You can go down to the local police department and have them run a background check free of charge. Most places just have a simple questionnaire to fill out regarding reason for check and such.

Go to your local Clerk of the Court website and it should have a section where you can type in peoples name and it will pull up if they have a record. But it will be only for this state.

If you're looking for one on a daycare center, nanny, babysitter, etc. you can go to www.ourlovingarms.com to find out about the types of checks they do. They are reasonably priced. We use the company for babysitting services, and I know they do background checks for low costs if you have a specific person/group in mind. I know they're in Sarasota, but I think the checks can be statewide and interstate.

Some of the nanny sites here on the internet will have websites that you can go to do checks. A couple of sites that i have used as a babysitter i notcied that they offered backround checks.

I am not sure how to do background checks for free, but you could always ask them to go get a local one from the police station. There is one at the Regency mall, where u could get it. I think its 10 dollars. But they have to be the ones to get it. Its where I got mine, when I was getting a job at a daycare.
