I am doing the Breast Cancer 3 day and was wondering if anyone else is doing it this year? Training is a real booger with it being as hot and humid as it is and I was wondering how anyone else was doing with all this.. oh and add fund raising on top of that.. Right now I am kinda feeling a bit over whelmed between being a mommy, being a wife, training and trying to do that too on top of it all.. that part isn't going very well at all.. But I really want to do this walk to help make a difference in this world we are in..

So I was just wondering if anyone is doing it or has done it and how did they do it all and fund raise too..

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuu

I have no advice for you, I am not that ambicious although I did think about it for a little while. I walk for March of Dimes each year.
I would like to donate on your behalf, I don't know how much I was thinking $10.00 is that okay? Could I mail you a check? Who do I make it to, where would like like it sent. Or can I do it online and still give you credit? Let me know if you want to call with your info my number is ###-###-####

Hi,
I did the walk in 2005 and I am doing it again this year. It's a little harder to train this year because I have 2 kids now instead of one. LAst time the most I did was a 17- mile training walk in August and the heat about killed me. After that I walked about 8-10 miles every sunday and smaller walks in between. I was able to complete all 60 miles without a problem, except it was hot! SO far this year I have been walking 6 miles 2 times a week. When it cools off in the morning and at night I will start doing more. I would like to do a couple of 10 mile walks back to back. If you go on the website they have training walks listed all over the valley. They also have ideas for fundraising. Most of my donations have been from family. Our team will probably do a fundraiser in September.
I'm not sure if I helped, but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Also, what part of the valley are you in?

Hi D.!

I am also doing the 3-Day. This will be my first year. I too am having a difficult time getting motivated to walk. I haven't walked at all during the week but on the weekends I walk on one of the training walks at Freestone Park in Gilbert. They begin at 5am and so far I have only done up to 6.5 miles but others continue for 12..I am done by 7:00am. Starting next week though I need to get moving. If you are not near Freestone Park then there are a lot of walks all over the valley. Where do you live? As far as fundraising; I did a couple fundraisers with my team...we did a golf tournament and 2 at the Wildflower. I also had a garage sale and a % went towards my goal. I am only 1/2 way there but need to resend out letters to friends and family because a lot have not supported me yet. I have 3 kids and a husband and it is really overwhelming. You can do it though... are you on a team? They are what is keeping me going by keeping me accountable. If you are near my area I would love to meet you and we can walk. See you on November 2! :)

Take care!
M.

I know that Malls open their doors before the shops actually open, I think 8 - 8:30 and it is a nice A/C place to walk. I know it wont train you to accept the heat, but it might help with just the walking part.

Good Luck, and hope this helped...
