Looking to go to both of these places. My bestfriend went to Vietnam for her honeymoon and loved it. She said it was so beautiful and hasn't been develpoed yet because there is still so much stigma attached to the Vietnam war. Anyway we are going to thailand in Decemeber and plan to make a quick trip to Vietnam. If you have gone or know anyone who has, do you have any tips? Things to definelty do, not do, airlines, etc etc. We were going to go in early decemeber because that is there summer but soemone told me that because most people get out of school they travel back to thailand during that time so prices are really high. So any help, tips would be appreciated. Thank you

Never been to either, but check the State Dept website regarding travel to Thailand. There has been a lot of political unrest in the country over the last couple of years, and I know at one point Americans were being advised not to travel there.

HOT and Humid in Thailand in summertime so agree with going in November/December. It will still be pretty hot but manageable. Thailand is beautiful and so culturally rich...I would recommned avoiding the overly touristy places like Phuket/Pataya and instead going to Krabi or Hua Hin...............bangkok has crazy trafffic but worth it especially the shopping......have fun!

If you go to Bangkok, like MK suggests, make sure you take a trip down the river in one of their boats. And DON'T miss the Jim Thompson House. It's amazing!!!

I don't have any solid tips but I've heard that parts of Thailand are gorgeous.

I agree to check the State Dept.'s web site.

We met a couple with a house over there and the wife was telling me that they changed the rules about how long you can stay (think it went from 30 days to 15) in certain situations.

Again, I would check the State Dept's web site.

Have a great time - sounds like an amazing trip.
