The MOMS Club is the best. I have been part of the Seal Beach MOMS club for 4 years now and I have made life long friends for myself and my three kids. Can't imagine not having that support. Good Luck! The website is: momsclub.org

Check out http://moms.meetup.com There is a lot more variety than the MOMS club and most are free with no dues or very little dues. If you work, there is a working moms one and there is even a single moms and dads group. Check it out!!

First of all, how did you afford to move back to OC from Texas? That seems practically impossible!!! :) Welcome back...

I am a 25-year-old mommy of a 13-month old. She's a busy little bee, and I'd like to find a group for the summer, too. Let me know where you settle, and maybe we can join too!

You should look into MOMS Club. The "MOMS" stands for Moms Offering Moms Support. It's an international organization with chapters in most cities. They do park days, age-specific playgroups, field trips, monthly Moms' Night Out, etc. It's a wonderful way to meet and get to know other mommies in your area. I joined my local chapter in Fullerton when my second baby was born and I became a sahm 5 1/2 years ago, and it has really been a lifesaver for me. I've met some wonderful women, and it motivates me to get out of the house with the kids on a regular basis. You can find a local chapter by going to www.momsclub.org

Good luck!

Hi R.
Check out momsclub.org and enter your zip code. MOMS Club is an international non-profit organization offering weekly meeting at parks, play dates and much more. It is organized by what city you live in, so that is why I said to check their website for a contact person in your area. It's a great group!

Hi R.,
Try www.holisticmoms.org and click on chapters. There are two in the OC. One in north and the other in south county.
They are a wonderful group of moms and children and have ongoing events, and playdates. Good luck and welcome back!

Hi R.,

There should be a Mom's Club Chapter in your community - they are nationwide. I was referred myself by another mom to join in Fountain Valley and it has been great. They have a monthly calendar of activities that you can participate in and meet other moms/children. Here is the website - www.momsclub.org.

Good Luck!

Hi R.!

Where in the OC area do you live? I'm part of the MOMS Club in the Cypress area, but it's an international organization that has chapters in so many cities - I know that there are several chapters in the Tustin / Irvine and Chino Hills areas, too, because friends of mine are involved in those groups. The MOMS Club is fun because they have so many playdates / park days, etc. during the month and you can attend whichever ones fit your schedule, etc. Most are part-time working or SAHM moms in the same area, so it's great to compare notes on local pediatricians or preschools, etc. when your child gets to that age.

Here's the link to our chapter's group: http://www.momsclubofcypress.com/ and you can go to the overall MOMS Club website to find a chapter near you as well.

Welcome back to you & Kodie to SoCal! =) Where did you live in Texas? I used to live in Houston for a few years when I was a little kid.

Many blessings!

Hello R.
My Name is J. and I am an instructor at a children's fitness center, My Gym. We work with children 6 weeks to 13 years doing songs, dances, gymnastics and much more. Your daughter would be in a parent-participation class with other children her age. This is a great way to get to know moms with children of the same age, and allow your daughter to play with children her own age. We offer a free class to try it out. So if you want more information you can call the gym ###-###-#### or e-mail us ____@____.com

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you
J.

Dear R.,

My daughter's name is Rachael, but she's five now. And I'm not a mom, I'm the dad, R.. This might seem radical, but look up the local Mormon church. They're the nicest people most of the time. I should know, I've been one for about 38 years now. And OK, I've met a few I didn't like, but I've moved my family around a lot during my 15 years of marriage to Andrea, and unlike the other husband's wives when we get to a new area, Andrea has a built-in set of friends anywhere we go. So maybe I'm weird, and you can just trash this. But I do have a catholic friend who calls it Club Mormon. When my mom had just finished her bachelors degree at BYU, a friend just flippantly said she should go to Australia. So she did. She arrived friendless, but not for long. She looked up the local church leaders and not only had a ride from the boat docks, but a place to stay and found a roommate the same week. She stayed for almost two years. Anyway, it's just a thought, and you don't have to join. I know they have all sorts of play dates and family activities at the local ward houses every week.

Hope it works out. And if I find anyone with a two year old, I'll send them your way.

R.
