Anti-vaccine Pediatrician in Richardson/Plano Boundary

Hello again ladies,

My son is 2 year old and I am trying to find a pediatrician closer to my house. The one we have is okay but we started having disputes after I refused the MMR vaccine on my son's 1 year appointment. He is also quite far from my home/office so I thought its probably wise to change to a more accomodating doctor.
Does anyone know a pediatrician near Richardson/Plano/Murphy boundary area, who is not so pro-vaccine and who would respect parent's opinions?
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!

So What Happened?

Am still searching!
Dr Bain is unfortunately too far from my house. Has anyone heard of Dr. Carla Cole? She is also pretty far.

The PP just mentioned Russell McDonald and I just wanted to comment. We see Dr Katz in the same practice (Plano Pediatrics). I believe their practice is pro-vaccine and if you refuse vaccines they will decline to treat you. I have seen the letter in one of the exam rooms. They also have an article posted on their bulletin board about the retraction of the article that linked vaccines to autism. So, I don't think they are the kind of place you are looking for. (I am pro-vaccine and do them on time, so I've never brought up any of your questions. These are just my observations about the office.)

Good for you for making difficult decisions without your doctor's support. I have a son with autism, although he did not regress into autism after his MMR. Probably 80% of my autism mom friends, however, did have a child who regressed into autism after the MMR or another vaccination. We stopped vaccinating at 18 months when I told my pediatrician that my son has autism. I only know of doctor Bain but you might try interviewing a few doctors and let them know how you will proceed with your child's care. I don't vaccinate my typical daughter anymore either as she had terrible reaction to her 1 year shots. She was 3 when we stopped vaccinating her. I went to a new pediatrician and told him I would not vaccinate anymore and asked if he would accept me as a patient. He waited a day to call me back with his answer and did take my kids as patients. Pediatricians are in the vaccine business. Think about it, every "well visit" a child is given a vaccine. My point only being, ask the office or the doctor, respect that they may not want you as a patient and that you may not want them as a doctor unless you can agree on your child's care.

Dr. Norah Randles at Floyd and Arapaho was very supportive of an alternate vaccine schedule for my son. He got all his shots, but spaced out more than the usual plan. I only let him get one needle at a time, so I had to go in more often, but it worked for us. It sounded like Dr. Randles has more than a couple of kids on alternate vaccine schedules.

Our pediatrician is pro-vaccine. However, he was respectful when I declined one particular vaccine. I also delayed the 12 month vaccines because we were going on vacation out of the country. I didn't want my daughter getting vaccine symptoms (fever, etc.) while we were on vacation. He was also understanding about that. He will tell you that you should vaccinate and why but ultimately lets you make the decision. His name is Russell McDonald. ###-###-#### (15th and Coit in Plano).
