Air Travel - Carry On

I have not traveled in years and am traveling next weekend (without kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). What can I take on my carry on, as I am not checking luggage. I have face moisturizer (3.4 oz but half gone). night cream, eye cream that I would like to take. Does that stuff fall into the 3-1-1 thing (which I still have to read). Plus all cosmetic stuff. Any info on what you have been able to take or has been confiscated in recent trips would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Check their website.
Generally, in a quart sized bag, as long as the container isn't huge, TSA will let it through. Half the time I don't even use a bag anymore. I usually carry toothpaste, razor and shampoo/cond in the outer zip pockets of my carry ons - and have never been stopped as a result. And I've flown a lot.
I also just put my moiturizer and serums in a little case (like your makeup) and send it through. I never take them out of the suitcase.
Again, never been stopped.

I also find that if you're travelling when it's busier, you're likely to get more through. If it's a small airport and the TSA agents are Barney Fife, you'll be standing there for an hour while they scrutinize everything.

They took my lotion, and I have seen them take liquid foundations and the like.

Everything should go into quart sized baggies. This way, when you take it out of your carry on and put it through the xray machines, it is easy for you to handle and for them to see.

Good luck!

Any liquids or gels have to be together in one bag that cannot be bigger than a quart. All individual containers in the bag need to be 3oz or less, and they do not care how full the container is. The bag with the liquids has to be taken out of your bad and then put through the scanner. Anything that is solid can stay in your regular bag.

Have a great trip!

I would contact your airline or TSA directly to get specific answers so you won't end up having to dump/lose some of your things. Wow, have fun w/o kids, I'm jealous!! :)

definitely hit the TSA website for guidance. I did that and it worked out fine. I think you may be ok with the moisturizer size. You want to put them in a quart size baggie so they're all together and easy to check. Have a nice trip :)

I am a constant flyer ... here is the skinny on make up/beauty
the package that it comes in is what counts not how full it is or is not ... does not mean it has to be in the ORIGINAL package. Put your face cream in a smaller jar that you purchase from the "travel" section at wal mart or target.
Lip gloss, mascara, chapstick, foundation, primer, cream shadow ALL COUNT!
I put those items in the baggy and keep the baggy in my purse for easy access to pull out when you go thru security. Shoes keep it to no lace no metal slip on tennis shoes (pay less maybe 15-20 bucks) best way to travel. Oh and I wear the same outfit home that I wear out and I pick the bulkiest outfit for the flight so I can fit more in my carry on bag. Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash put them all in the "travel containers" if you HAVE to bring them.
