CONGRATS on your baby!!!

I totally understand...instead of going for new clothes - go to the Thrift shop or even the Goodwill store near you and get some clothes...your body is changing and instead of spending a ton on things you might not be able to wear next month - get used instead...

Our Goodwill has some good stuff!! Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Tommy, etc..you just have to look for it...and you will be surprised what $50 will get you!!! you may find you don't want to go "new" again...

If there are consignment shops near you - look in those as well..

This is a VERY stressful time after the baby is born...getting used to one income, having a baby, lack of sleep, trying to get our bodies back, everything...take a deep breath...

explain to him that your body is changing and that you need to wear SOMETHING...you aren't going to spend thousands...show him that your clothes don't fit...

Sexy is also a state of mind...there are women who are plus size and have more sex appeal than the average girl - it's all in the attitude!! :)

Sell some stuff you have and don't use and then use the money to go shopping! Try craigslist.

Congrats!

You should take some of your old clothes that dont fit and take them to an adult consignment store. They are great, and you can find lots of newer things that will fit. It's like free shopping.

As for your husband, he is probably just really stressed about money, and about making everything work providing for you and the new baby, and he just doesnt know how to handle it all. It takes time. You arent materialistic for wanting clothes that fit.

It will take time to feel sexy and good all over again, so dont worry. Stress is a crazy thing. Just make sure to make time for both yourself alone, and to make time to spend together too.
It will get better!

Totally been there and know exacty what you are talking about!! I had a girlfriend and a cousin that lended me some of their clothes but try hitting a second hand shop like Clothes Mentor where they are more picky about the items they take in. You could also try a clothes swap with a friend who is pregnant, take her clothes while she takes your maternity clothes. I admit, I started secretly buying simple cheap items from Target and Old Navy so my hubby wouldn't notice too much. Not the nicest thing to do, going behind his back, but I was down and really needed the pick-me-up of feeling better about myself. I get it so hopefully I gave you a good suggestion:)

Maybe you should explain to him that your body composition is different and even if you lose all the baby weight - it does not guarantee you can go back into your pre-pregnancy clothing.

You should also have a JOINT account in which you can spend his money as easily as he can.
