About Shots

I have this friend her daughters are not up to date on the shot or the fact they had never had one... ? is there any harm for the kids ? Could they be taken away ?

What can I do next?

Well, it is my RIGHT to choose whether or not I will inject something directly into my child's bloodstream. If someone tried to take my kid away over that, their life would be HELL.

No, they can't get taken away. If America decides to throw the constitution out the window, and parents can't make an educated, thoughtful decision regarding vaccinations for their kids...I will move out of this country in a heartbeat.

of course not. some parents do their research and decide that vaccination is best. others do their research and decide the risks outweigh the benefits.
most follow like sheep and do exactly what they're told.
fortunately in this country parents still have a few rights where their children are concerned. it's alarming how many parents want to force their views on all others.

All states have medical exemptions, all but two states offer religious exemptions and some states offer philosophical exemptions. All states require some form of paper work to enter school with the exemption.

No, they cannot be taken away. There are a lot of issues about going against their constutional rights (meaning their right to choose). And there is a lot of controversy about the health issues.

I personally feel that ALL AMERICANS have the right to live how they want, religious beliefs, ethical beliefs, etc. If we lose that right then we will just go back to living under dictatorship.

I've read about parents who would not treat a child for diabetes (tried to pray it away) who lost custody.
But so far, no one's kids are taken away if parents will not vaccinate.
Personally I think if an un-vaccinated child dies of a preventable disease the parents should be charged with involuntary manslaughter/neglect.

No and no. There's more harm from vaccine injuries statistically than there is from these diseases these days. Each state has exemptions that parents can sign for schools. If you want more information on the diseases we vaccinate for and more, visit www.thedoctorwithin.com ! It's not true that kids who are vaccinated don't have to worry about the diseases, you can still catch the diseases. Vaccines aren't 100% effective, and they wear off after a period of time.

In my personal opinion, I think not giving your child every chance to keep from getting ill should be illegal.
I don't agree with allowing people to not get surgery or medical treatment for their kids based on religion.
I don't agree with people not getting shots or doctors suggested treatments based on some articles they read.

I do believe it is child neglect and I think that if a child gets sick and dies from not being vaccinated that the parent should be charged with a crime.

I think if a infant who has not had all their shots yet dies because someones bringing their under or non vaccinated preschooler to the park and that baby dies, the parent of the preschooler should be brought up on charges.

And yes that has happened.

Unfortunately, right now no, the kids can't be taken away for that and the parents can't be made to do it.
Although the majority of schools do now require a certain number of vaccines before the kids can go in.
If you don't want to do it, keep them home, and away from my kid.

Many people choose not to vaccinate. I am not one of them.
However, I don't know that children are arbitrarily taken away based on such a decision.
I think that many people feel they don't need to vaccinate simply because so many other people do and therefore, the chances of THEIR children becoming ill is small.
Locally, whooping cough has made a real come back and there are even commercials on TV about it. Kids die from it. I'd rather give my kid the shot.
Also, I have an aunt who suffered all her life after being stricken and crippled by polio as a child prior to the vaccine. No way in hell would I risk that happening to my kids.
My children, as well as all the other children in my very large and extended family had their kids vaccinated on schedule with no side effects, etc. We do not have one single incidence of autism for generations.
Kids who are vaccinated don't have to worry about the diseases they are vaccinated against.
Kids who aren't vaccinated have to worry about contracting something from the other kids who aren't vaccinated.

This is just my opinion.
My kids are grown and healthy. My 25 year old daughter has her son on his vaccination schedule. All the women I work with have their children in for their scheduled vaccines.
I guess it's something you either do or you don't, but I would never risk my children getting things they could be protected from by vaccines.
If they ever had bad reactions, it might be different, but thankfully, I didn't go through any of that.

Just my opinion.
